I feel pretty sure that it's at least a tiny factor in getting your school on the map with recruits.

I don't think every college out there is doing this just for fun, there must be a purpose to it.

Not really. It's an internet myth. I can see how they get it though, Oregon has success and they immediately contribute it to the uniforms, but when you look at it Oregon has really never had a BIG recruiting class. I mean if uniforms were such a big deal to recruits, then why are Alabama and Ole Miss at the top of the recruiting rankings?

And as little as uniforms have to do with football, they matter even less in baseball.

Not going to make a bit of difference for Maryland, though, even if they pick up one or two extra recruits. I doubt any viable recruit uses uniforms to determine his decision.

That doesn't look half bad actually. I'd like to see a more full picture of the blue helmet though.


Regarding the uniform thing: I think some kids at least take into account the uniform when picking a school or at the very least a school that allows the students to have a say in how the uniforms look. I don't think it's nearly as big a thing as it was when Oregon first started going crazy with their uniforms and it seemed the kids were virtually designing their own uniforms year in and year out.

More talk about Maryland baseball here in the last 24 hours than there has been in the last 24 years. Mission Accomplished. I'm over the MD pride stuff but clearly the school isn't.

Exactly. Maryland manufactured attention with these uniforms. It was either that or get someone to notice the school with the much slower and more expensive process of trying to build a national power program.

Can't argue against Maryland on that one.

I don't mind most black uniforms if black is an actual color (or Boises St's for some reason)

But LSU doesn't have any black...whoever had the idea for those should be fired
