Now we just need to figure out who's DNA portrait that is on the dark jerseys.

Re: OS Uni Snob Thread
Dislike, only for the textured **** built into the fabric.
At least, it makes it look like poo in the pictures. If they didn't have that, I'd enjoy them quite a bit as well.
edit: It's on the light kits as well, TC. Just harder to see in the pictures.badComment

Better than the atrocities Adidas made

By the way, those U kits are a beauty, really classy. The new Universitario 2014 Jerseys feature the genetic code of José Luis "El Puma" Carranza, who played his complete career for the club.Last edited by Ermolli; 01-21-2014, 12:32 AM.Comment

Those NBA All-Star unis are evocative of the location the game is held in but simple.

Re: OS Uni Snob Thread
That's actually not genetic code. Genetic code refers to the sequence of A's (adenine) G's (guanine) C's (cytonisine) and T's (thymine) that make up the 3.4 billion nucleotide human genome. What the figure actually represents is one of several forms of polymorphic marker profiling. Basically, DNA is treated with an enzyme that cuts DNA at specific sites where it recognizes a specific sequence of 4, 6, or 8 nucleotides depending on the enzyme. The fragmented DNA is the run through gel electrophoresis which separates the fragments by size to generate the bands seen in the figure TC9 posted. Because of person-to-person variation in the human genome, it is highly unlikely that any 2 people who are not identical twins will have an exactly identical marker profile. In the figure posted, I'm guessing the 2 identical end lanes are what are called standard ladders which contain a mixture of fragments of known length that can be used to determine the size of the fragments in the 8 test lanes. Each band corresponds to a different size fragment while the intensity of the band indicates the amount of fragments of that particular size.
I never expected to an image of a polymorphic marker analysis gel posted on here and I certainly didn't expect someone other than myself to post it
OK, I'm done, goood night
