I don't think kids commit to Oregon solely because of the uniforms, but I think it's a small factor. I think the uniforms intrigue them, pique their interest, and then they go to Eugene and see the top notch facilities and environment and that's what convinces them.

There's a reason everyone is ripping them off.

Regardless, neither color is a school color. The diamond plated Dennis Dixon era unis were hideous, but at least they were mostly green and yellow.

It's funny, because those uniforms were really the start of all the ongoing uniform controversy. Pretty much all the criticism you hear now about any new Oregon uni iteration was said about the early 2000's ones.

Does anyone still find these shocking like they were in 2001?

I like what they have now better. Not what they're wearing for the Rose Bowl, the uni they've used the last few years.

I love those..

I actually have a replica of the yellow one in my closet. One reason I don't mind their current use of other colors is because it keeps them from going all yellow.

By the way, the worst thing Oregon ever did was this (imo):
