I understand they are classified now, but classified material can still be leaked. I hope they are never leaked, but in my opinion they will be.

      Re: Bin Laden is dead!

I haven't read through this thread yet but i'm uneasy about certain things. Now not to offend anyone here cause thats not my intention, but i feel like i have to get this off my mind.

I was listening to the radio the two days or so after they announced that they got Bin Laden. Some of the callers called in and talked about how this could be fake etc etc that they need official pictures for proof. And when the radio host mentioned that they have the guy a proper burial, a storm of callers called in complaining about the agents who took Bin Laden down giving his dead body too much respect.

Now to my knowledge, us Americans have a sense of justice and a morality code that we think puts us above many other countries. Even when we know and have 100% evidence of someone doing something illegal and wrong, we still give that guy a lawyer and let the justice system handle the issue.

Now for this one guy, its like the people of America decide to throw all morals and sense of justice away and become savages. The guy is still a human being, giving him a proper burial according to his customs is not wrong is it.....

Now don't get me wrong, Osama was a bad man and desired the death penalty without a doubt. But why is it for this one guy we decided to throw away justice. I still can't believe people chanted America when the guy was announced as being dead.

I don't know, maybe its because i wasn't personally affected by 9-11 but i feel like we're sinking to the level of the guys we're after here. We're better than this. Why didn't they just bring him in, allow the justice system to do what it does and sentence the guy to death. Without a doubt he would of been sentenced to death for his actions. Well there goes my rant.

He was an enemy combatant, he resisted and the SEALS killed him.

Had he not resisted the SEALS would of brought him in.

Wow I did not know that.

Regarding my previous post, i understand where people are coming from. Two months ago someone hit the door to my car as my dad was getting out, thank God he didn't hit my dad but they took my door right off my car and never even stopped. Now when i got news of this, i freaked out. I wanted to go out there and personally find the guy responsible for this and beat the crap out of them. However its now been 2 months. If the police came to me today and told me they got the guy and i'm allowed to take some swings at him, i would decline and let the justice system do its thing. I've calm down.

And that was just for my door, i completely understand the feelings most people are going through, but its been 10 years. If we had caught him a couple days after the events of 9-11 or even a couple months after, this sort of thinking that most people are going through would of been perfectly acceptable because of the raw feelings of the moment.

It really would of been great to bring this guy in, it would of proven to those terrorist that even when confronted with Osama we Americans still hold our sense of justice and morality and would let the justice system handle the case.

It would of better to see him get the death penalty and await his execution without any power to alter it at all.

And it would have given him a platform in glorious high definition, broadcast across the globe and covered 24/7 by every news outlet to address his followers and spread the word of the imperialistic and evil United States of America. [exaggerted, just slighly, for dramatic effect]

No way, no how. Would have cost way too much of taxpayers money for security and the long drawn out BS political/media banter trial. It would have made it worse, and made him a martyr.

I disagree with this. 10 years does not erase what happened on 9/11. The images and memories of that day are still fresh in the minds of many Americans, especially in New York and Washington.

I'm willing to bet it will get leaked sooner rather than later. We are a media-driven society and there are too many people that likely already have it that will want it released for policitcal or self-serving reasons.

Has anything been put out on if the Burial at Sea video will be released? I heard the Obama administration was debating on releasing that as well.

Those pictures of the dead dudes in Bin Laden's compound just goes to show you how good those Seals(or Spooks) are, those are absolutely perfect kill shots. One guy where the entry hole is visible is in the middle of the chin, that is a instant killer, that guy was literally dead before he hit the ground.

As far as the controversy behind Bin Laden being armed or not, people forget, this is war. Shooting a Unarmed person is perfectly acceptable under certain conditions, I could not think of a more appropriate situation where he should be killed. There are no headaches involved with this, we killed the guy therefore we saved MILLIONS of dollars that would have gone to protect him, or us Americans when he would be tried. Fact is, him being shot dead on site was the perfect way to wrap up his story.

I agree with this. I think people are forgetting this is war and Bin Laden was an enemy combatant. And you can resist without being armed.
