We will never know the truth. But to me this was a mission to kill and not to take alive. That is just my opinion.

The answer to that question should be "who cares?"

He is dead and that is all that counts (to me and many others).

The old dude even said that about 30 minutes of those 40 minutes they were inside was spent collecting intel. OBL was dead from the get and not as reported earlier that he was killed in the last 2 minutes, which leads to the belief that the little girl was right when she said that she was taken downstairs and OBL was brought downstairs and shot infront of the family and taken to the copter by dragging OBL through the ground.
How does that lead to where she was right? Sounds like he was shot in the room in a quick sweep, seek and destroy mission (which is not against the rules of engagement). She was brought downstairs, the way he was shot was "in action" not that of an "execution".

Sure she was right about being brought downstairs, but she did not see him get killed, and the way he died was that "in a moment". Chest-Head "tap-tap"... common tango down action.

Who really cares, it is a moot subject. OBL fate was determined before those seals even got on the chopper, he needed to die. A Living, breathing Osama is a absolute threat to our Military folks and civilians. Sure there will be reprisals but it will be nothing like what would happen if he were to be detained and stand trial. There is simply no other analogy we can use in modern times that would be similar to this situation, this is such a unique and extreme situation that there are no alternatives to killing him.

Well many others including myself care about the circumstances surrounding his death.

Oh I am so glad I am not in the military anymore.....The media sickens me. Everybody wants to be arm chair jag officers......

When I was in the special forces missions stayed classified and was left at that. All the media got was so and so was killed, end of story.

              Now.....people want details, pictures, videos......SMH.

she was grabbed by the seal member along with another little girl and brought downstairs. Nobody shot at the Seals except the first courier and he was the first taken out before they even reached the compounds middle portion where OBL was at the top of the stairs.

There were weapons on the floor in OBL room but it was him vs 2 seals with no weapon on him. I just feel that this was a mission to kill and not to take him alive.

Am not losing sleep over it though

This is a sensitive subject Raz and it would be best to not bother. I am with you on this because the government has changed their story 4 times since Sunday.

But others only see it as revenge regardless of how it was done.

That is fine and dandy but then we cannot claim we are better then they are and do things the right way. NO?

Its fun to play this game but this is the real world, If Bin Laden were to be taken alive that would put live in unnecessary risk. You are forgetting something, We at at WAR with Al Qeida, Bin Laden was their commander, if you have a chance to end it, you do it. If a US Sniper could have taken out unarmed Hitler in WWII, he would have taken the shot. We had a chance to cut the head off the chicken and we did it. Everyone else who died was collateral damage, If you put yourself in the same room with someone as dangerous as he was then you accept whatever might happen.

Osama is dead so that means no Wasted money on a trial, money on housing him, money on Security. Not only was it cost effective to end him, it saved lives, that is fact.

BTW I just want to add this, Al Qeida has(and still does) booby trap houses of significant value. Bin Laden vowed to die for his cause, he had access to millions of dollars to safeguard AQ information, and has been photographed wearing a suicide vest. Basically Bin Ladens past actions meant that he simply could not be taken alive, when confronting a potential Suicide Bomber, SOP is a bullet to the dome.

So you are saying this was about saving money? In war both sides attack, have you heard of POW?

All I am saying is that we will never know if he surrendered or put up a fight

Sadaam had a gun and we arrested him.

What I don't understand is how the house wasn't rigged with explosives set to go off if any intruders get in or something. You'd think these filthy scum ****s would have done that if they are such "masterminds".
