Interesting science behind the tornado's, with the whole La Nina thing. Never knew that stuff, they explained it well.

Tornado watch in the Philly area. It's crazy hearing there was a tornado in Massachusetts. This bastard weather is coming East.

Anyways, yeah I hope all our MA/Northeastern OS'ers stay safe.

Well, that was a bust for my area, but there's some damaging road/house/structural damage in the Springfield area where the tornado went right through.

Barely even got any thunder or wind or anything here. And that was after them saying we were supposed to get hit by a strong storm, but it ended up sliding south and dying down here.

Dude that tornado storm cell went over my house in Vermont. Me and my wife seen it coming out of the grocery store. Funnel came half way down then went back up. It was the freakest crap I ever seen in my life.

Then it started hailing hard. I mean this wasn't small hail either, it was jaw breaker size hail.

Four people reported dead so far. Lots, and lots, of property damage in Springfield, though.

Obviously it's not near the south's devastation this spring so far, but still...just damn. Can't even believe it actually happened here.

How many tornado watches do you New England guys usually see in a year?

Watches? Maybe like 4 to 5, but usually they're just "These storms could produce them," and not - "They're coming, the rotation is there, get inside now" kind of stuff.

This is one of the worst storm cells that's happened here in my twenty-two years here.

Actually, thinking about it...the past few summer's I can only think of two or three total tornado watches. So I may be over-estimating it with the 4 to 5 a year.

Apparently we get 3 very weak (F-0's and F-1's) tornadoes every year, but the last one that did any real damage or killed anyone was 1995. Last time there was 4 or more deaths from a tornado was 1973.

Springfield is 10 minutes from my house. No damage around my area fortunately. Just some rain that didn't last long.
