This would be the only concern I would have. But you know these two better than any of us on OS. As long as you guys will have your space and you are ready to move out, and from reading your post it sounds like you are, go for it.

As long as your names not on any sort of lease, I don't see why not. However, for legality sake make a document and have both of you sign it. Refer to any daytime court show for reference.

I won't be mentioned anywhere on any documents. I'd expect my own mother to try and screw me over "Judge Judy Style", before either of these two would.. lol.

Yep, I couldn't believe it either. I get out cheaper at home, but I'm looking to take another step towards getting out on my own. It's going to be another year or two before I'm financially capable of having a place all to myself.. so this seems to be a good move.

I have a similar thing goin on. I am also 21 and moved out for the first time last August to go to a University. I moved into a house with my brother and his then fiancé(got married in October). I only have to pay $450 for all bills and groceries. Home cooked meals 2-3 nights a week. Pretty good for a college kid.

I don't think you will feel like a 3rd wheel. If it feels like they are inviting you out as a courtesy, just decline. You'll be fine.

While this sounds good, you have to keep two things in mind. How long will you be staying there? And while you never fought before, you probably will have to deal with some issues. Like his family or friends think you are taking advantage of him. To be honest if it was me I would not do this move. I would just live at home and try to save as much money as you can then when you get a good job move out of your parents house.

Sure, but that never happens. I wouldn't do it because I don't want my friend taking care of me. I would just stay with my parents.
