On a semi-related note, I just got a text from GameStop letting me know NCAA is going to be available at 12:01 Tuesday, but it also said to finalize my payment by 10 pm Monday. What does that mean?

Re: GameStop emails...
It means pay your game off, because at 12am, they will just hand out games to the ones who paid them off in advance. However, I've seen transactions made as well.Originally posted by J. Re: GameStop emails...
So I called GameStop today and told them about the issue. He said, "It's in our system that you pre-ordered Dark Spore from us December 15, 2010. You never claimed the game, so the credit is still on your account."
I said, "Sir I don't even own a system that would run that game and I wouldn't pre-order that for anyone else. I think a mistake has been made on your end."
He said, "I appreciate the honesty, but the credit is in your account and I can't take it out, so you can do with it as you please."
I said, "I will feel bad if this is somebody else's money that I'm spending. I don't even have a receipt to prove to you guys I pre-ordered the game, obviously."
He said, "It's connected to your account, so it's your money. I can't deny a customer who has paid. It's connected to your card, so unless somebody stole your card, came to the store and put money on it, I think it's your money."
I'm so confused at this point, I really don't know what to do. I tried to take the high road, but apparently I at some point did this. I'm hoping it's a glitch in the system and I will be using GameStop's money not someone else's...Comment

Re: GameStop emails...
You did the right thing, at this point if they won't correct the mistake you pointed out to them I'd say go ahead and use it.
Had you just used it without trying to correct it then that's one thing, but you tried and they told you that it's yours and there's nothing they can do, I'd say you can go ahead and use it guilt free.Favorite Teams:

The ethical people will tell you to tell the truth. The ones that don't feel that way will tell you to spend the money.
None of those people are you. Your choice. I won't look at you any differently because it really doesn't concern me.
Gamestop should ask for a receipt when you walk into the store. If they don't, well then, I'm not sure what they're doing in that place.Texas A&M Aggies

Customer: I did preorder dark spore for pc.
Gamestop Employee: our records indicate that you did not. However I will gladly sell you a new or used copy.
Customer: look at my order history...
Gamestop Employee: it's not here. Could you have possibly reserved it under a different account
Customer: no I guess ill have to buy a new copy.
The credit is a year old. I doubt someone is really gonna remeber anytime soon oh yeah I preordered a game and didn't pick it up. No harm no foul if you ask me.Because I live in van down by the river...Comment
