There was a standing offer at 250K. I would consider that the opening bid and let the games begin.

I'd give it back. I respect the game too much.

I'd give it back, then I would go onto TV shows around the country and would become well known and before you know it I would be making more money than I need..... right?

Unless your casey anthony, you do not get any money for appearances like this. If this guy is well off and doesn't need the money, then more power to him. If he makes as much as I do then I would call him stupid. The responsible thing to do is do what is best for yourself.

Struggling or not struggling I would keep it and sell it. Give the money to charity or something if I was so well off, but it's the Yankees, they can afford 250K+.

At first thought, I'd say give it back. I've always respected the way he approaches and plays the game.

But then I'm like this is the guy who was at down turn of his career, coming off his worst season ever and was going to take the Yankees hostage for not overpaying him for his currently diminished talents.

I'd take him for as much as he would give me.

As a baseball fan, I pay for cable to watch the games, a jersey, the MLB app for my phone, tickets if I want to see a game, etc. all in support of my team.

When they start talking about giving me some of that for free, I'll talk about not cashing in when the tables are turned.

I would try and sell it, but back to Derek Jeter. Point blank, if the guy wanted to keep his 3,000 hit ball, he shouldn't have hit it into the stands. It'll cost him extra for doing so.

I'm a huge Jeter fan. But I'd a sold it.

Bingo. Dude should've hit a single like 98% of all of his other 3,000.
