Walmart cause its the cheapest by far. The only thing is when i do my shopping there is only 2 lines open. Ive got this basket full of food and the people behind me have a tooth brush and deodorant. Sometimes i'll let them skip me.PSN: buckeye02Comment

Those gawd-awful commercials are what makes me hate Woodmans. As soon as he says "Sold by better people because we're employee owned" he made me hate them. Just seems too cocky for me. Especially since every employee I encounter at the store shows ZERO customer service qualities, and everyone I encounter outside of their workplace that works there hates their job.
That being said, I visit there enough. They're cheap, and since my GF is a vegetarian-aspiring-to-be-a-vegan, they have most of the stuff she needs that other places don't. Not to mention their liquor department is huge and cheap lol.
For grocery's though...
Usually I shop Wal-Mart for anything processed/frozen/etc just because it's the cheapest and the same stuff I can get elsewhere.
I shop Piggly Wiggly for any quick fixes and for sale items seeing as they're literally a block down the road.
And I'll travel to Woodmans for anything hard-to-find or for fresh food(ie produce or meats) that aren't on sale and/or overpriced at Piggly Wiggly(unless in complete desperation, I won't buy fresh food at Wal-Mart).Co-Commish of the OS Vets I & II

Its not even close. Hands down the best in the business. There are grocery stores then there is Central Market. Lets start with what happens when you walk in. First you are greeted by the friendliest staff. If you have children they will ask if you want them to have a balloon and a snack. Then the real fun begins. You grab a cart and veer off to the right. The first thing that hits you is the world renown produce department. They have sweet rainer cherries, all varieties of apples, potatoes of every kind, greens that are out of this world. Samples of any and everything as you make you way around. Heading to the back right corner of the store you will find the the best cuts of tender aged Prime, and choice beef, fresh mouthwatering lobster, amazing salmon. Succulent shrimp and cuts of air chilled chicken that will have your house the talk of the town. They make their own sausage of all varieties. They even have 100% grass fed beef and Bison. There is plenty of good stuff to go round. As you make your way past the meat section you will arrive at the adult beverage are where you will find a wide variety of beers, wines and drink in general from around the world. As you continue you journey you will be showered with the best in customer service as vendors and staff help you with your selections. After you pass through the beverages, not to mention fresh juices. you will see a tremendous selection of bulk spices, herbs, teas, coffee from all over the world. Try the columbiano coffee. Its chocolaty and goes with just about any meal or by itself. Then you twist your way to the dairy dept where you will find the best milks, eggs, fresh baked goodies, and butter that will knock your socks of its so good.(try the euro with 85% butterfat) After all that you get to the Cheese area which is in close proximity to the Deli.(I can't tell you what they have here but you will be amazed) Once you are done grabing the finest in cheeses and finest cold cuts you will find your way near the On the run Cafe. They have a grill, pre made/to go food, salads of every kind, fresh pizza, hot tamales, rotisserie chicken and turkey. They even have baba ganoush and hummus.(yum) Near the registers to the right you will find a paciugo (Italian gelato) Simply amazing Ice cream. Right next to that you will find premium expresso, coffee, and any other type of hot beverage of your liking. I think that about covers it....Wait there is more. They have cooking classes, massage therapists, great sales, live bands, a play area for the kiddos, a fish tank, and most of them gave a patio area. I'm a foodie though, expect to pay more but know that you are getting the best service, the best food, and the best damn shopping experience of your life.
P.S. Wholefoods is great too, they have some of the same items just a little pricier. I also would rank Sprouts up there as far as value goes. They aren't as big or flashy but they get the job done. Kroger and Tomb thumb are also on the map. We go there too but for everyday stuff, not food so much. When buy for my family I aim high. There is no substitute for great food quality.Comment

In the Twin Cities my favorites are Kowalski's Market and Lunds/Byerlys. They both have a fantastic deli (Boars Head FTW!), a nice salad bar, plenty of organic produce, and some great stuff in the butcher shop. Sure they are a little expensive, but I wouldn't trade them for anyone. Besides, we load up in bulk at Costco for the regulars, so it's just the mid-week stuff at the above locations.I may not have gone where I intended to go, but I think I have ended up where I needed to be. - Douglas Adams
