Re: Gamestop in Trouble?
Basically, yes we do open 1 copy of every new game. (Atleast this is how my store does it) so that way we can have one on the shelf. GameStop does not supply me with sleeves or I would gladly put those empty cases on the floor.
I do make sure my employee's and ME, tell them "Hey, this is a copy that was on the floor, it was not played but I used it for display purposes only." Usually they understand, sometimes they don't.
I have bought a display copy once because I forgot to pre-order and it was the last copy they could sell me that day. No issues with it and they let me know like you do.Comment

Re: Gamestop in Trouble?
As much as I dislike gamestop's policies, I admit that most stores in my area "promote" the 7 day used game policy. I've never done it myself but have been tempted to.Originally posted by Anthony BourdainThe celebrity chef culture is a remarkable and admittedly annoying phenomenon. Re: Gamestop in Trouble?
The crappy part is that I play almost exclusivly sports games so my trade in values totally suck. I understand why its low but, really 25 cents I could live with $1 just out of spirtGaming hard since 1988
I have won like 25 Super Bowls in Madden so I am kinda a big deal.Comment

Re: Gamestop in Trouble?
I've tried to stay away from GameStop as much as possible. The guys that work at my local store are the typical know-it-alls that get an attitude when you're not interested in the games they like and get snippy with me when I try to buy a sports game instead of WarCraft.
I hope the whole company goes under.Comment

Re: Gamestop in Trouble?
I really only go to one GS anymore-- a little out of the way for me, but the guys working there are pretty cool, not the pushy know it all types.. Never had an issue with any preorders I've done (other stores i have been to try to tell me not to get so and so games).. Otherwise it's BB for meComment

Re: Gamestop in Trouble?
The Gamestop here sells unopened games and the workers don't hassle you at all.
That being said, Best Buy is in the same complex, and KMart is right across the street. So, for new games, I choose either of those depending on who's giving the best coupon for my next game. Usually it's KMart.Comment
