      Re: Opinion on Twitter?

Twitter is great because it's literally real-time. It's outdated TV and pretty much everything else as a news source. For someone like me who has rapid-fire thoughts on things, it's a stream of consciousness, especially when watching games. With the guys here on OS, it's like one chatroom when something is going on.

That said, it's ugly, confusing, unorganized. Full of illiteracy and idiocy, worse than the internet as normal.

      It's a great resource.

I love me some twitter. Its one of the few places I can just tweet random nonsense, and follow things/people I like. I'm on it all the time

          Re: Opinion on Twitter?

I have one that I never check. It seems good to get up-to-the-minute news and information but as far as just talking to people, I just don't get it.

I don't care. I think I have used it about twice because of a Tornado situation. I don't have any desire to follow people.

                Re: Opinion on Twitter?

Can any of you guys give me advice to get more out of twitter than I presently do? I get that following sports teams and news outlets is convenient but I think right now I have exactly 3 followers. I want to have a twitter and enjoy using it but I am having a really hard time making more practical use of it.

Spot on my man. It's real-time like you said. Which, we've come to see, can be bad. When you don't have that filter, you say things and they become misconstrued or they're simply just stupid and shouldn't have been broadcast to the world.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that hings it's ugly, confusing and unorganized and worse then the normal BS you see on the internet. I'm surprised something so popular is as unintuitive as it is. Everything takes time to get used to, but it seems like Twitter could be a lot more streamlined and polished.

                    Re: Opinion on Twitter?

I didn't think I'd like it at first when I signed up. But I quickly became accustomed to how it works and now I love it. I don't use it for anything serious since only a handful of people I actually know in real life use it. I mostly follow sports media people, athletes, entertainers, and OSers. I use it to basically say what I'm thinking unfiltered (which I can't do on FB because of the amount of people I actually know and family members that are on there). Like other people have said it's good to have silly conversations like we do in OT, but without the restrictions of the TOS.

                      I like it.

When I got something I want to say to the OS guys who are usually in OT and I don't feel like loading the forum in the browser on my phone.. I just pull up my twitter app and post.. much easier.

That should sufficiently answer the question. And that's in probably not even a year.

I could really care less how many followers I have. I like it for the news and to converse time to time with fellow OS'ers.
