Re: Most annoying words, terms, phrases
Swag/Swagger
I say I'm "fixing to", sometimes. Then again, I am from the South and I do have some of those characterstics. I don't think it makes me any less intellegent, It's just the way I talk.
I make fun of people who pronounce shower as "Shire".
"I'm fittin ta take a shire".Comment

Re: Most annoying words, terms, phrases
Have we said "swag" yet?
Never heard the word until I stepped foot into a high school to teach, and outside of that I've only heard it in Justin Bieber's new single.
I hate this word.
EDIT: Looks like AUChase said it above me.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: Most annoying words, terms, phrases
"Literally" is only bad when they don't literally mean "literally."
What was that dialogue exchange in (500) Days of Summer? Something like...
"She took a giant **** on my face... literally."
"Literally?"
"No, not literally. That's disgusting. Jesus, what's the matter with you?"
It's just weird when people say it while omitting the word entirely would make the sentence be completely sensical.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: Most annoying words, terms, phrases
I can't stand listening to athletes being interviewed and saying "you know" a million times. It's brutal.
Listen to a Cole Hamels interview. Your head will explode.Comment

Re: Most annoying words, terms, phrases
I don't doubt it, but it's since been repopularized I guess, especially with youth culture. It's just annoying. I heard it one time (context was irrelevant), and my ears bled.
