Yeah, thanks...talked to someone doing it now and figured out the options. Not sure if we'd have enough to cover the down payment without selling our house, and moving twice doesn't sound fun. We might consider it as we see what houses are around when we're able to sell though

Ended up getting our house under contract with a backup as well. Found a great house that'll be good for us. Now it's the fun stressful time of paperwork and all that jazz. Now i just hope everything goes smoothly!

If in doubt about anything don't let them gloss it over. When we viewed our house they mentioned the fireplace base had a crack and they had a professional company caulk it and it had passed inspection. I knew we'd use the fireplace a lot and so I took them at their word and didn't think much about it. Normally I'd have googled it, and I should have.

We found out later during a routine inspection that caulking a fireplace, whether it's done with fire resistant material is not, is highly dangerous and the base unit should have been replaced. That cost us $400 to do that.

Just finished building my house and have been living in it for 2 weeks now.

I've killed tons of spiders and various insects...got tired of that so I sprayed the outside and inside with Ortho defense Tuesday. Seems to be doing well as I've had no bugs since.

Well, today find 2 mice that upon sight, crawled up and into the concrete walls of my basement. I didn't realize pest control was so vital of new homes.

Usually with new homes you get all these companies going door-to-door offering services, usually pest control & lawn care. Pest control is definitely worth it!

Also, our neighbor who had the big camper is in the process of selling their house, so no more big camper reflection in the pool. Plus, they were not the nicest people in the world either (they admitted to us that they're "not dog people" when we first met them even though they knew we had dogs, and just weren't friendly in general). I'm hoping that are new neighbors are more dog-friendly and don't have a big camper.

                  Pics to see the difference:

*not the best view, but better than with the camper.

Lastly, we had a professional photographer local magazine come out and take pics of our pool a couple of weeks ago. It was pretty cool seeing the drone they used, as I had never really seen one in action before... but now I kind of want one.

awesome freaking pool man. super nice. How deep dopes that go 8 feet?

                    Thanks man.

The deep end is 6 feet, but that works for us since we mainly just use it for lounging.

What is the square footage for your guys man caves? I'm planning my house of the future and I want to pretty much maximize the space I got.

I want to at least have a mini bar, pool table, Mame arcade section, Race simulator, couches and big screen tv.

Just dreaming anyways, this won't happen for years haha.

Finally caved in and purchased the automatic vacuum for the pool. What a great investment! So nice to just sit by the pool with a drink and watch that thing go to work. I'll brush down the walls before starting it, and still have to skim the top of the water, but that's it.

I dunno how you lived without it. Hated cleaning the pool in the summer, especially how hot it is in Phoenix.

I was being stubborn, honestly. Yeah, the cleaning frequency ramps up now that Monsoon season is upon us.

The house we're selling has a pool...I had a Baracuda G2 cleaner my FIL got me when we got the house. It was ok, but parts kept tying over time.

Got a cheap one last fall on Amazon just to get us through selling the house. It's one of those crawling ones that have the flap shake it to go around. Not amazing but gets most of the pool.

I was always jealous of the robot ones that do much better with coverage and all that. I always have trouble getting spots in our pill shaped pool.

Our new house doesn't have a pool, but has a sweet outdoor built in natural gas grill and killer nat gas fire pit too. The community has 2 different pools, and a splash pad, so we'll be using those more instead of back yard pool.

                                All moved!

New house is great! A few little things but nothing horrible. Kitchen sink faucet had a leak inside the hardware, so we just replaced it instead of trying to find the o-ring failure on a non-reliable American Standard faucet (searching online lead me to find people don't like them much). Wasn't too bad to fix.

Cox cable had trouble getting great signals in the spots we wanted, but the guy eventually figured it out.

Amazing having more space, we love how the house is, the neighborhood (trees, nice neighbors, more like midwest vs. typical Phoenix area)...Unpacking is slow, but we can do that at our own pace at least
