Driveway and Parkway is another example, along with Hamburger, etc.

Just because bastardized English could not get it right, and a name stuck, does not make something that it is.

I am still not voting and going with, 'it is it's own damn awesomeness only fit for the G-ds'!

Want your mind blown? For the holidays, my restaurant is now serving pumpkin pie cheesecake (and no, it's not served in a tin pan).

It's a pie. cheescake has a graham crust. Cake doesn't have crust. You bake a cake and not a cheesecake...it's made refrigerated. Therefore a it's a Pie.

Most cheesecakes I have seen have graham cracker crusts. Wouldn't that make it a pie?

                    Re: Cheesecake: Pie or Cake

                    Pies are baked too anyway.

Ultimately I consider it cake because pie I can eat all day as its not usually rich and sweet, but cake on the other hand can be mighty rich and one piece is more than enough.
