    Re: Off Topic 2012

Hypothetical question that is obviously not hypothetical.

Say Person A gets a new job, thanks to a friend, Person B. Person A has been there about a month, and then he gets another offer for about similar money but a bit better situation.

Does Person A owe it to Person B to stick around with his current job (that he got thanks to Person B, as mentioned), or does he do what's best for him and take this new job offer?

Being "around" and entertaining for 50 years are different. Rolling Stones I don't think qualify as entertainment anymore. Plus, rap has only been mainstream popular for 20-25 years, but you still have some "old guys" going hard through their 30s and 40s.
Not sure why I took the bait, but the reasoning seems very flawed to me. I should have come at him with a "everything is **** compared to classical then" line.

Do what's best for you. It's your life, not someone else's.

There isn't many old rockers like that either. Stones are great, no doubt. But how many other rockers are out there that are that old?

IMO, if you are good, you're good. You will be around no matter what.

Always watch out for Number 1 first... if it's a better opportunity for you, then you need to take it.

I would never trash a whole genre, and I don't get why people do. There are artists in every genre I hate, but that's no reason to just say that it's all crap. Then they always try to use it as some lame *** reason as to why their favorite genre is better. If you don't like it, don't listen to it. Simple as that. I don't care for Country, but you don't hear me declaring it garbage to prove a point.

                  Yep.

If they were willing to help you out, then they should be okay seeing you make a decision that helps benefit you. Just leave a notice that you're leaving and take the other job.

I just decided to go back and purchase NCAA 11, It's listen for $15 on GameStop's website used. I search for it on Amazon and can get it for $4.00.

You got one of those in the family, that sucks. I'm lucky my folks are Internet savy and won't just click on everything they see.
I've heard this "patience is a virtue" junk all my life. I'm happy to say I have no virtue, no scruples, and no desire to wait too long for anything. In my humble opinion instant gratification takes too long!

Yeah, we work together so he is getting better, but I have to get him to change his home page from Yahoo!.com

He still won't enter a website in the address bar. Instead it's always In the Yahoo search bar.

My father in 2012 still can't turn on a computer, never mind surf the internet. If it weren't for my mother, I doubt their household would even have a computer.

Damn! In 2012 your Dad can't turn on a computer?! My old man is semi tech savy and just now starting to fall behind the times.
