Off Topic 2012

[Suntan Superman]

Anybody else live paycheck to paycheck and sick of it? I am, and I really don't know what to do to improve/change this situation. I already work over 55 hours a week, I make $17 a hour. I am 26 years old, and frankly sick of this ****. Sorry for the post, didn't want to make a new thread just about this, but had to vent somewhere... ( dont really have many real life friends either to be honest )

Get some friends man. I wont lie, the 9-5 gets old real fast, but with my current life setup, I honestly never think about work unless I'm there. Right now its all mindset. Also $17/hour ain't bad, my buddy lives paycheck to paycheck on $10.75/hour, and no OT.

Honestly, and I've been over this with a lot of other people, too many people let their jobs define them. A job is simply what you do to be who you are. But for real, go socialize somewhere, make some friends, I hang out with a couple guys and gals from work and I have more that I don't work with. The wife and kid also keep me fairly busy.

Eh, I guess I shouldn't have vented about that topic here. I came off the wrong way apparently, sorry.

Nah fella, you were straight. Looking back @ my post, I did come off as ****ty, so my bad.

I don't think anyone was looking to jump you, they're just trying to help you look at it in a more positive light. If you're single and making decent money, you should be able to afford a few nice things and be happy with your life. If that's not working, change something... we all deserve to be happy.

I know I'm not one to talk, I make a decent salary and still live at home, so the only bills I have are Internet, phone, car payment, car and bike insurance, Netflix, Gym membership, and a loan payment, but even with some extra cash, I usually hide it from myself in my savings and pretend I'm broke.

I started taking my lunch to work and only buying a few new games, each year. With the right investments and decisions, you can turn a little money into a lot more money.

That's actually what I was kinda going for, just did a poor job of it.

Everyone else notice the whites starting to become more numerous in OT?

I think the working man blues that was said is actually correct. I usually am not like this, it has been rainy here the past few days after months of sunshine ( Connecticut ). I never wanted to say living paycheck to paycheck is necessarily a bad thing, because it isn't... I don't believe you have to have tons of money to be happy.

Occasionally, someone new wanders in and they start to call it home too..

100% agree. That's what happened to me. Now, I stay in the OS Neighborhood more than any of the other forums. Just better quality conversations and for the most part pretty positive stuff going around in here. Not to mention the humor!
