That's actually how I thought BurghFan did the OT post standings. I was like, "man, these guys take this OT **** seriously."

When is Burghfan going to go through every single post in the history of OS and tally the amount of likes it has to find out who has the best L/P ratio (likes per post)

Oddest of requests, but is anyone watching MLB Network right now (The Rundown) who can capture the segment on Harold Reynolds' hitting approach in terms of staying behind the ball on contact? Too many hitting coaches need to see this, and I'd love to show it to them.

It just showed not ten minutes ago.

If you really want to teach hitting, look at this:

A discussion of the characteristics of the high-level swing and how it applies to both baseball and fast-pitch softball.

That would be one of the great feats of computer nerdery.

I know there's a way to program some kind of utility that'd do that for you.

Not about "teaching hitting" per se. I've coached hitting for years. I just wanted to e-mail a couple of parents to shut them up about what they think they know about letting the ball travel into your body, and a quick video with real life examples would have been perfect.

EDIT: Great website, though. I agree with most everything he says, and it's full of accessible visual aides as well.

                      I see

But that page I showed you is seriously one of the best things that ever taught me about hitting

Maybe you can look at the charleylau channel on youtube there are some batting tips all in the Charley Lau technique of hitting. Hey, if it's good enough for George Brett it's good enough for lousy parents who think they know all.

I think what I wanted to show was just something that was more "out of the blue." Reynolds created the segment because he's showing why strikeout numbers are increasing in baseball. I don't know if this is the reason, but I just wanted to emphasize what staying behind the ball means. I show it all the time, but it doesn't really make sense until they see it for themselves in a brief period of time. Brevity is the key.

                            This needs to be done.

I'm betting the winner would be a person who posts in the WWE section. That place skews averages. Everything posted in there seems to get at least one or two likes.

Then we should just restrict it to OS Neighborhood

Did I post that much in this thread, I feel I haven't been active here in months.

I went to the gym for the first time in like a year. I feel I'm too skinny so I need to gain some muscle if I want to even consider playing basketball semi-professionaly plus it wouldn't hurt to have something in my arms instead of noodles. I have considered going there a lot time before but I don't enjoy being there just lifting weights, I prefer something that entretains me like playing sports which is something I do every week to stay in shape and have fun. While I was lifting weights in the different machines I felt so weak when I saw the previous people lifting like 45 kg when I could barely do it with 15 kg, I know I've just began but those people are like 20 or more years older than me and I'm in an age that I should be maximising my strenght so I felt somewhat affected by that. Despite all that I know I will be feeling the exercise tomorrow and maybe on Saturday too when I'm planning to go out.
