How much money do you guys feel is reasonable on first date?

Honestly it depends how much I know the person before hand. If we've talked or have known each other before, then a dinner/movie combination is a pretty good to go. At least somewhere in that $$$ ballpark.

If its a "setup" date or I'm meeting this chick for the first time cold turkey, then usually its just dinner or something simple like that. It leaves you with the option to do something after dinner if its working or splitting if it isn't and it won't break the bank. I feel like the more "expensive" dates should come after the second or third date when I start to feel comfortable about continuing to see them.

$100 on the first date? F that.


Obviously if you can afford it then more power to you, but my budget can't support that because its more important for me to pay down bills than it is to try and impress a chick with my wad of cash.

I'm only a college student, so I feel like it's pretty different, but I think I spent around $40-50 on our first date.

Was getting ready to leave this morning and went to grab my phone off my desk, but accidentally knocked my glasses on the floor while I was already beginning to step away from my desk and of course the glasses went right under my foot so I stepped on them. Fortunately they didn't break, but the part that goes over the bridge of my nose is bent so now my glasses are slightly lopsided. Fortunately they're just reading glasses.

This has happened to me more times than i'd like it to. Lately though i've been fumbling around and dropping my hearing aids. I'm half expecting the damn thing to shatter

She thinks she'll be getting back January 11th.

Goodness....If you think you're a bundle of nerves now I can't imagine how bad it'll get during Thanksgiving and Christmastime.

Anywho, I was talking to my GF last night and WOO! She's coming over here overnight sometime this coming week. It'll be good for the both of us as she's really been working her butt off at her new job and I've been missing being around with her. It should be pretty interesting.

Plus, she's willing to pay as we go to my favorite Italian restaurant here

If you're not willing to spend at least a little coin on these dates, you might have to settle for a girl that actually could destroy 100 McDoubles in one night.

I only asked everyone's limit out of curiosity. Obviously it all depends on your funds and the woman you're taking out. Wasn't meant to offend anyone.

Anyway, should be a busy weekend. I'll have my daughter until next Friday. Can't tell you how excited I am to pick her up after work.

The girlfriend officially moving in on Saturday. I'm going to miss all that closet space.

My max would probably be $100-125, but i've never spent more then $75 ish normally.

Like said I would probably spend more if I had to depending on my funds, the girl,etc.

My first date with my current girlfriend was a 95 dollar bill that my dad ended up paying for. Her and I were sitting at the bar in a restaurant my dad and I used to go to once a week...he ends up coming in, drinking with us and then pays the entire tab without us knowing.

It was ****ing perfect.

I think my first date with my gf was like this...

$50 lunch+drinks
$10 margs (that she paid)
$40 dinner (that she paid)

all in all, came out to $100.

Yeah, her parents wanted her to come home for Christmas even though her finals are like a week or two after that, but apparently Turkey has a strict policy against her going back to America (not sure if she can leave the country at all). That policy also screwed up her plans to come home and surprise me for my 21st birthday (5 days before she's currently scheduled to come home)

She's on this ridiculous scholarship where she literally pays $0 at school. Tuition, Room & Board, Books, and spending money for whatever she wants is all taken care of (her sister also has this scholarship), so she actually offered to buy me plane tickets to go see her over Thanksgiving or Christmas break but I turned it down because I didn't think it was really fair for her to spend that much on me. It would have been in the ballpark of $2000.

Oh, and her dad flies around all the time for his job and it's in his contract that he gets to collect the flyer miles even though the company pays for the flights, so her family can basically fly anywhere they want whenever they want. That's why she was willing to buy me tickets... they'd just be using their flyer miles on me.

It depends on what you do. We had a small discussion about it a few pages back. A decent dinner with a few drinks usually costs $50-60 + $20 on movie tickets and maybe an over priced theater drink or two and you come out around $100.00. If you don't drink, then you wouldn't spend as much, but my first dates usually go that way.

I know some guys say they prefer it if the girl doesn't order much, but I hate going out and a girl only wanting to order a salad. I don't care to date someone who's afraid to eat in front of me.. I hate that ****.
