Woo ASVAB.

What's AFQT? Is that the whole score? I only know overall I got a 97, and had a GT of 136. I chose infantry in the Marines - my recruiters laughed at me.

What's up with some people's facination with Korea? I've seen several people over the net with an obsession with Asian's (specially Soth Korea's) language, culture and people that amazes me. Is it because it's in the other hemisphere or that they find that country extremely exotic and attractive?

No idea. In LA, it's the cool thing to do to go crazy over Korean food and whatever. My trendy hipster douche friends just threw a Korean BBQ-themed BBQ on Sunday. WTF?

Not saying nobody should obsess over or like things like this, but it's a bit weird for it to pop up out of nowhere.

It's just like everyone's recent fascination with bacon. When all else fails, say "bacon", and you'll have hordes of people coming around say "OMG BACON! I LOVE BACON". When did bacon become a trend?!

Yeah AFQT is the whole score. Your scores sound kind of high for infantry lol.

Do the scores/categories change depending on what branch you join? I'm doing Air Force btw.

They don't change, ASVAB is the same for every branch. They are high because I had decided that the only way I would join the military is for Marine infantry. If I wanted a desk job I would have finished college (did 2 years) and have done that without putting up with all the BS that goes hand in hand with the military.

Now my viewpoint may have changed a bit, but I would do it again if I had to.

3. Their BBQ is actually really good.

I don't remember what I got on the ASVAB, but I do remember that I did good on the actual school stuff (math, english, science, etc) but absolutely awful on the technical military-y stuff.

I was thinking the same that Korea might be the flavour of the month but it's something I've seen in the last couple of years instead of like ten years ago when animes, mangas and those stuff apeared strongto this site of the world.

Most of the people I've seen that are into Korea are women but I agree with reason N°1

Welcome to the Pacific Northwest, where the Autumn and Winter seasons are chilly (most of the Spring too), and the hoody is a mainstay in a lot our wardrobes. While not a school color, black will fit with more things than purple in my wardrobe. White stains too easily (and strangely is almost non-existant as a UW hoody color), and I don't care for gray about 90% of the time. I'm not a fan of non black or white hoodies since I wear them so much. Blue is probably the only color I'd consider besides those, and obviously it's not gonna happen here.

Other UW gear will more than likely be purple however.

What about gold?

I have a vegas gold Pitt hoodie that I got mostly to wear under my winter coat (which doesn't have a hood) when going to Pitt football games when it's really cold.

I can't wear black... Cats and dogs, man. Love grey and dark green. White too, but it stains.

That first part reminded me of a family picture that I always rib my mom about. The portrait was of her, my sister, our Newfoundland, and myself. However she decided to wear a black sweater and in the picture the dog is sitting in front of her and you can't tell where his head and and her sweater begins as they're the same color.

Got an 86 on the ASVAB today. Feeling kinda good about myself.

Edit: I should clarify. My AFQT score was 86.

And I have no idea what either of those are though going by subsequent posts, they appear to be test for getting into the military.

Yeah me too. I'm glad that certain stuff doesn't count because I had no clue on the mechanics and puzzle solving. It almost got to a point where I would just click an answer before I even looked at the question
