Re: Off Topic 2012
Never seen something like that in NYC. Upstate at football camp I saw daddy long legs for the first time and the whole team freaked out and ran like bitches...myself included. Happened like 50 times in 3 years of camp.
At Syracuse a Black Widow was crawling on my shoulder, unbeknownst to me. The girl I was eating lunch with saved my life that day. I seriously contemplated marrying her to show my thanks.Comment

Last night I went to a little Christmas party thrown by a girl I was in grad school with. It was cool to see a few people from class I hadn't seen in quite a while. Unfortunately I woke up with a hangover and I'm supposed to be playing some football with friends this afternoon. It probably won't end well.

The funniest part about that gif were his coaches and teammates on the bench. They were all like WTF was that?"You got it man. I don't watch hockey." SidVish"I thought LeBron James was just going to be another addition to help me score."

Re: Off Topic 2012
So, I've decided this weekend I'm tired of hanging out with myself. The introvert thread has made my personality abundantly clear to me that I'm a true introvert and loner, but living alone kind of sucks after awhile especially with such a small group of friends (most of whom do not live in my town). What things do you guys do to go out and be social?
I'm not much on alcohol so the bar/club scene is of no use to me. I'd love to find a class, workshop, or league to join, but that's proving difficult in the dead of Winter.

Meeting people through friends, social meetings not so much loud parties
Taking a skills class, or a college course
Joining a club, like hiking or sailing something like that
Volunteering is very good for meeting new people
Hanging out at hobbie spots and building rapport with locals is easy to meet new people (starting the dialogue is the introvert's pain haha)
Dont let the introvert in you talk you out of trying to meet new people.Comment

Re: Off Topic 2012
My grandfather just got an identical car (different color though) to my old one on his lot...only difference is that my old one had alloy rims and this one has normal wheels with hub caps, and I don't know why but it bothers the hell out of me to the point where I'm not sure if I want it...just makes the car look cheap.Comment

Re: Off Topic 2012
I'm really hoping this motivation to "get out there" doesn't leave, but thanks to recent events some fire has been lit in me.
I would love to join an adult basketball league, but I don't know enough people to put together a team. I know there are a couple hiking clubs, but the winter isn't really nice weather for hiking typically.
Writing and music are my big creative outlets, but I'm not sure what type of classes I could find that wouldn't be one-off classes. I feel like I need a band, but again don't know any other musicians who would be serious about it. Craigslist is an option, but its ****ing Craigslist haha.
And I was hanging out at my comic book store, but the damn place shut down lol. The local music shop sucks or else I'd be there every damn day. I feel like I moved to the completely wrong place for getting out of my shell. Its only made it thicker.

Re: Off Topic 2012
Yeah man yesterday I was just reflecting on that. When I was little I was so gassed up about getting hot rims and sick body kits on my cars when I got older. Now, upgrading my car aesthetically is the furthest thing from my mind.
At one point I thought motorcyclists were so bad *** and was thinking Id be one when I got old. Now the thought of me riding a motorcycle petrifies me.
So yeah, you just need something that moves bro.Comment

Re: Off Topic 2012
As though alloy wheels made the car such a ballin car. Just wheels man, nobody really pay attention to them, nobody worth your time anyway. Besides you can always upgrade the wheels if you really want to. Getting a car should be your priority, not what the wheels look like.
I'll probably end up getting it because it only has 40k miles and I should be able to put a decent down payment on it.Comment
