    Harry Potter indeed does suck.

    Star Trek movies, hit or miss. Some of them were good, some not so good.

    The 2nd movie in the LOTR saga was the best one.

    Honestly I feel sorry for the younger generation growing up Twilight and Harry Potter stuff........

    When I was a kid it was Rambo, Die Hard, Lethal Weapon, Predator, Death Wish, Robocop series.

    Now it is I love you, can't live without you, let me transform into some animal or other type of creature BS to save you. Oh no, now you know my true form, I am ashamed, do you still love me anyway ?

                    Just Star Wars. It is really good though. Mel Brooks is constantly underrated as a parody writer (kind of one-note as an actor, in my eyes).

                        Yep......Compared to the neighborhood I grew up in......those movies were rather tame, I seen worse in real life as a kid.

                            Twilight doesn't even deserve to be in the same sentence as Harry Potter.

                            There's actually good storylines in Harry Potter that make you think at times, as well as some serious issues represented in society,etc.

                                Completely agreed. I think GMSS has some serious nostalgia glasses on right now (also I think his childhood was completely different than mine as well as most people on this board, TBH).

                                        As a kid I grew up on Excalibur, The Princess Bride, Ernest Goes to Camp, Perry Mason, The Simpsons, and Dirt Bike Kid.

                                            With the success of Pardon the Interruption and apparently Skip Bayless, ESPN has slowly morphed from a station that covers events to one that analyzes and offers opinions on those events and their participants. This trend has bled into SportsCenter, especially before and after "major" events. Nearly half of the coverage of the Broncos-Patriots divisional-round matchup was not of the game itself, but featured Merril Hoge and Trent Dilfer discussing Tom Brady's brilliance or whether a spread-option offense can succeed in the NFL.

                                                        Cinema masterpiece........no, just a different era in society. The 80s and early 90s were all about guns, muscle bound male actors and big action. Being a manly man.

                                                        Now......it is more about magic, personal feelings and love. Society just has changed of what sales a lot and what don't..
