So what's the most anyone has spent on books in a semester? I think I'm going to be pushing $700 (all used books, mind you) which is far and away more than I've ever spent.

at buying books.

If you *need* the book, rent it dude. Never ever ever buy from the bookstore. Do some research first on the classes, too. Because there are a good amount of classes that you can easily do just as well without getting the "required" book if you know what you're doing

I have winged it without the book before in classes and done well, but every single class I've had so far this semester has some important thing online you need the book/access code for.Last edited by BunnyHardaway; 01-26-2012, 12:03 PM.Comment

Re: Off Topic 2012
Well my one computer class requires two books...one of which comes with Office 2010 and the other with an access code to use the online program. All of the assignments are posted and submitted through this, so I have to get both. That class alone is running me up about $250.GT:jb12780

The price differences between Amazon and the bookstore aren't as much as I thought...Bloomsburg U.'s was/is really bad, though, and their buyback prices were even worse.Comment

At Stout, we just rent them from the library. Very rarely actually have to purchase any sort of textbooks.Comment

Re: Off Topic 2012
I bought all my textbooks off of Amazon. Unfortunately, for my classes it seemed like they were all for "new editions." Still, I was able to sell them on half.com for a pretty good amount. I kept all my major studies textbooks, though.
Renting textbooks didn't become available until my last year. Even then they were only select titles available.Last edited by Fresh Tendrils; 01-26-2012, 12:34 PM.
