Yeah, they don't let you pump gas unless you pay first everywhere I've been.

It's not a big concern in places that aren't filled with an enormous quantity of *******s.

I believe you. Just can't wrap my head around it.

Of course not being able to drive I've never pumped gas nor have I paid much attention to gas pumps when at the gas station when riding with someone else. But I would imagine they have some sort of monitor behind the counter that is wired to the pumps and monitors how much gas is being pumped.

That's crazy. In Texas, we've been pre-paying since the early 2000s, maybe even before that. People were stealing gas like crazy (including myself) before pre-paying was mandatory.
