Re: Off Topic 2012
I started watching Dexter last night. Michael C. Hall is ridiculous. Its like its not even the same person that played David Fisher. I'm already in love with the show - love the noir/mystery of it, the dark humor, the Morgans (sister is nice), and obviously MCH is great.
Also read some more of A Game of Thrones. Really good thus far. Jon Snow is a badass.

Re: Off Topic 2012
It's not best to constantly be drawing fuel from a very low gas tank, but as I said it's dependent on your year, make & model.
I never let my tank drop below half (old habits die hard).Comment

Same with my Dad. If I had more money, I'd do it. I try to fill it up past halfway when I do fill it up so I'm not constantly on E or in the last 1/8 of my tank. It seems like once it gets down past half tank gas goes so much quicker. Heard you get better mileage at with fuller tank but don't know if tha'ts true or not.NHL - Philadelphia Flyers
NFL - Buffalo Bills
MLB - Cincinnati Reds

My wife is absolutely ridiculous with filling up her car. The worst invention they could put in the car for a woman is the miles to empty info on the display. That info is constantly on and she rides that car to the mile. I keep telling her that those readouts are not totally reliable and one day she is going to caught short. I am the total opposite, as soon as I hit just below a half a tank I fill it back up.“The saddest part of life is when someone who gave you your best memories becomes a memory”Comment

I always fill up, and about the only time I let it get down is when I am filling up with Plus or Premium after; other than that, constant filling up.
In most cases, fill up when it gets to a quarter tank.
For the people who say if you had more money, I think there is a simple answer. Fill up your tank, and then every time it hits half, put in 10-20, etc. After a week or so, you will get used to it and not miss a beat.Comment

I'm happy to say I have no virtue, no scruples, and no desire to wait too long for anything. In my humble opinion instant gratification takes too long!

Re: Off Topic 2012
Here we go...
Fill up efficiently. This involves three things:- Fill the tank full. If you need to fill up, fill up all the way. The more money you try to save by adding $10 today and then $20 tomorrow will be wasted since each time you will have to travel to the station and wait for a pump. Instead, do it all at once to save time and money.
- Don't top up your tank between fills. It is wasted money and bad for the environment because it invariably forces liquid fuel into the evaporative emissions system where it overwhelms circuits that are supposed to only route fuel tank vapors to the engine while it is running and can be burned.
- Wait until you have a quarter tank but don't push this any further. Doing this can extend your gas mileage because you are hauling a lighter fuel load. It also gives you the opportunity to buy more gas if you run across a bargain. However, in cold weather, you run an increased risk of condensation in the fuel tank. Running a car with less than a quarter tank can shorten the life of the electric fuel pump and running on empty will often destroy the pump.
It may seem that it takes longer to go from full to 1/2 than it does to go from 1/2 to empty. That is because the fuel monitor inside your gas tank does not go all the way to empty. It's range is Full to about 1/8th. So, full is full, and empty is really 1/8th.
It is designed that way so you won't run out of fuel. But, dont run it that way. Fill back up when you get down to a 1/4 tank because the bottom of your tank has trash and other elements that can hurt your engine and clog your fuel filter.
Honestly, if you have a newer car it is just preference. The more important thing regarding fuel usage is to keep the air pressure in your tires at the recommended levels always.Comment
