 When you multiply exponents, you add the exponents.
 
 Example: (x^5)(x^8) = x^13
 
 When you divide exponents, you subtract the bottom from the top.
 
 Example: (x^5)/(x^8) = x^3
 
 
 In that problem, you have to find a common denominator to subtract the exponents.
 
 So (x^11) = (x^22/2)
