After a few weeks of lobbying and suffering with this ridiculous internet, I've finally been pushed too far.

I told my parents, whether they used it or not, I was calling Charter and swapping and getting my own ISP. If they wanted to keep AT&T for themselves, they were more than welcome to.

This opened their ears to it a little more and I called and got some detailed specs on pricing and such. I'm going to call back during the day, tomorrow, and have someone scheduled to come install it.

I wish my mom/step dad were as up to speed with technology as my dad is.

They don't understand the concept of 15+ mbps > 1.5 mbps.

My internet will usually stream netflix, etc fine and work for online gaming, but the second someone sits down on another computer.. it goes straight to ****.

My god man!

My uncle used to have Hughes Net.. I think he still does. It's horrible.

I think my parents are now considering their options with swapping tv providers and going with an all in one package. Our dish contract has expired.
