I've heard this "patience is a virtue" junk all my life. I'm happy to say I have no virtue, no scruples, and no desire to wait too long for anything. In my humble opinion instant gratification takes too long!

Re: Off Topic 2012
I've got a question for you guys. Most of you know of my current situation, where I'm basically slowly coming face-to-face with a cross-country move.
Has anyone in here done that before? Any advice/tips/things to do/not do? What about getting a job in an area you don't currently live in, and can't easily travel to?Rose City 'Til I Die

Re: Off Topic 2012
The Facebook part reminded me of a few months ago when my uncle was going through a rough patch with his wife. He's a Facebook noob and started searching for some of his old "lady friends". The problem was he was using the update status box instead of the search box. One would think that he would have figured it out, but nope. Then to make things worse he went through his friends list and started trying to "Inbox" people, but instead he was still just updating his status. My 2K17 Boston Celtics MyLeague

Re: Off Topic 2012
Legos of Lord of the Rings are coming out this Summer. My office is gonna turn into a block-sized version of Middle Earth. Hopefully a game follows soon after that.

Well I see one of the mods was apparently having the same issue with misreading "Taxes 2012" as "Texas 2012" as the thread title has now been changed.Steelers : IX, X, XIII, XIV, XL, XLIII

1. Plan you're driving route, don't make any hotel or motel reservations, when you get tired stop in the closest city and get a room there.
2. Get rid off all your crap before you pack to move, the less you have to haul the better.
3. Make a trip to the city you're moving to if you can. check things out and get a place to live locked down if you can. I flew to Louisville a couple of months before I moved and I stayed for 5 days
4. Start looking for jobs now, if possible you'd want to have enough money in the bank to survive for 3-4 months in case you can't land anything.
5. Enjoy the drive to your new destination, a drive across country is kick *** and you'll see all kinds of cool stuff.I've heard this "patience is a virtue" junk all my life. I also have a plan that if I can't get a job before she has to go out there, I'm going to keep looking, but I'm going to keep my job here and move in with my family. It would suck, but I'd still have money coming in and I could dedicate my nights to get a job.Rose City 'Til I Die
