Re: Off Topic 2012
I got pulled over this morning for expired tags...
SpoilerI renewed them, just haven't put the stickers on yet.
Random thoughts from yesterday:
That felt like anything but the Super Bowl. Seriously. Commericals were lame. Actually, they weren't lame they just felt like regular commercials you would see during a TV show.
Chris Collinsworth continues to be the most annoying annoucer to me. I hope somebody invests in a thesarus for him because if I hear him utter the word "brilliant" one more time I will pop that pimple atop his neck that he calls a head.
Madonna for pushing mid-50s still looks damn good. The half-time show felt kind of tame, but I attribute that to the NFL and NBC. I didn't like the sound mix for the vocals, but it didn't really bother me that I couldn't tell if they were lip-synching or not. Still, I enjoyed it and any other year I feel like the spectacle would have been matched by the rest of the Super Bowl presentation, but I never got that vibe.
Clint Eastwood needs to be cast as the next Batman.
I really, really, really hope Smash falls flat on its ***. Its nice that they finally located Kelly Clarkson and while she looked horrible, she did well on the anthemn. Blake Shelton sounded like ****.
Also, what was up with NBC's Thursday line-up? I didn't see Whitney or that Chelsea Handler show in the listing. What the hell NBC?
Speaking of which, loved Will Arnett on Hulu. This is a 3,000 suit, COME ON!

Limited vocabulary aside, there isn't a better color commentary guy in sports.Comment

Re: Off Topic 2012
Will Arnett was awesome
Me and my mom (a comic book movie enthusiast, weird. But she got me out of school to see The Watchmen and Iron Man, so it's cool. But I digress) actually brought that up. She said instead of re-booting it, Nolan should create a new chapter instead of repeating the same stories. Not that ****ty new future Batman with Bruce Wayne as his mentor, but like an aging Batman in general.
Also, here is a picture of my dog again.

Watson, I agree. An older Batman kicking *** would be cool. I'd hate to see them "reboot" and basically do the same thing over, even if the story is different.

He can be on point, then sometimes he baffles me.
I actually have a liking for some of the "B" and "C" crews on CBS. In fact, I think CBS does the best job at broadcasting football... from pregame (well, as good as a pregame can get) to commentary during game.
Which reminds me, I think Phil Simms is the best color commentary out there. Troy Aikman is actually pretty decent too, shame he has to put up with Joe Buck. Don't know who thinks Buck is actually a good commentator. He seems universally hated by everyone I've ever heard form an opinion on him.NHL - Philadelphia Flyers
NFL - Buffalo Bills
MLB - Cincinnati Reds

My step sister is pregnant & I hope it's not the douche bag she's been with for a few years. I don't know, because I rarely talk to her anymore. I have my doubts about what kind of parents he can be.
I'm trying to be reasonable and happy for her though, so here's to being a little more understanding.Comment

Re: Off Topic 2012
Ryan Lilja. Currently plays for the Chiefs, started both Super Bowls for the Colts at LG (I think it was LG).
My school has had two NFL players that I know about. Lilja, and Ryan Torin who played for the Redskins the last two years. There's also Mike Rivera who is currently a NE practice squad member, but I don't think he's seen any regular season game action.
EDIT: Oh, and we've got Samantha Ryan. Google if you don't know the name, but there's a HUGE NSFW warning on that.
Also, Butterbean was in one of the Jackass movies. He went a round with Steve-o or Knoxville. He was also in one of the Ready to Rumble boxing games on Dreamcast.

Re: Off Topic 2012
Unfortunately, I tend to agree. Collinsworth has these serious lapses though where he's programmed to say something even if it's true or not. They had a sequence mapped out last night with Manning to Manningham and him breaking it too far off and out of bounds. Didn't like the canned commentary and illustration.

I do like Troy Aikman and Phil Simms as well, and I don't understand the hatred for Joe Buck. Maybe I'm just easy to please? Or maybe compared to Brent Musberger and/or Mike Patrick, other sports personalities appear far more competent by comparison.Comment
