    Re: Off Topic 2012

I can't believe the amount of people that were lined up inside Wal-Mart tonight just for that new ****ing Twilight movie. I just shook my head......and then walked over to get a look at any hot girls that were there.

On a completely different topic, lately I've been feeling like I need to start eating better. The thing is I'm currently on my own and can't cook if my life depended on it. Unless of course it was to throw chicken strips in the oven and to flip them over.

I'm nowhere near being fat or anything, but yeah, I feel like something needs to change here. Anyone have any advice? The problem is I can be a picky eater, but any advice is welcomed.

I would say just take it a little bit at a time, and start cutting out things you think are unhealthy, or just lower the amount of times you go out and get them.

I would start with the Fast foods, the greasy fats, the sweetened pastries, and the desserts. Start getting more fruits, and vegetables into your diet. With meats go with the lean Chicken breasts, and Beef, if you like Fish Salmon, Tuna, Cod etc are pretty good. Just grill, bake your meats instead of frying them.

If you're time constrained and don't have a lot of time to cook, try to buy your meats, and veggies in bulk and get a lot of plastic Tupperware containers and when you have a day off prepare like 5-6 meals ahead of time and save them to heat up later. That way you'll have healthy meals to take with you to work, school so you won't be tempted to feast on fast food or vending machine snacks.

Find recipes you think you will enjoy and go for it. That's basically all I've been doing. I know cooking can be intimidating (a lot of it still is to me), but once you start doing it you get the hang of it and start learning the ropes. Also, invest in a slow cooker. Easily the best purchase you will make.

I've got a decent rotation of things I can cook. It's just a matter of hitting the store to get the meat or whathaveyou.

          Catching up so...

Ya need to learn to cook, it's not hard. If my stupid self can cook anyone one can.

A Crock Pot is essential for any single man living alone. Start dinner before work and enjoy a delicious meal when you get home. The smell when you first open the door is an added bonus.
