I have a bad habit of leaving mine on overnight, sometimes for a couple nights in a row. I'm more conscious of it now, so I'm trying to make a point to shut it off before bed every night, but sometimes I'll be like at halftime of CH2k8 and there's no way I can finish & can't save so I just leave it running.

As far as it overheating, I wait until it gets to where the fan turns on regularly, then I save everything, shut it off, unplug everything, and vacuum it with a small sharkvac. Works great for me, sometimes I do qtips too.

Do you have the slim or old model?

Mine seems fine but I'm thinking it'd probably be a good idea to give it a bit of a rest first.

Of course this happens when I'm ready to play The Show for the night.

I left my 4 year old xbox 360 on overnight like a few days ago. I'm on pins and needles every day now

How pathetic is it that we spend hundreds of dollars for these gaming consoles and we can't even trust that they'll hold up without completely dying on us?

Have to hold breath every time they're turned on, turned off, load saves, yada yada.

Frustrating.

I'm not one for hyperbole, but I think I am quite serious when I say, that if my kid ever wears or asks me to buy him Red Sox/Yankees or Giants/Cowboys/Eagles ****, I am gonna ship him off to NAMBLA.

I felt like that after my original 360 got the RROD. That **** was ridiculous. With PS3 I feel much safer though.

NES, SNES, Game Boy, Game Boy Advance, Gamecube, Wii, I've never had a single issue with a Nintendo system.

The Game Boy one surprises me the most. I had to have had 500 hours per year in that stupid system by the end of my time with it. *** **** Pokemon...

EDIT: I realized 500 hours for the, say, 5 years I had that GB was insanely low. 500 per year, while probably high, is sadly closer to the truth.

My grandmother's NES worked like a charm, but ours always required a piece of cardboard, as a wedge, or the ole "hot air/cold air" trick.


I used to laugh at my grandma, when she played Mario. When she pressed the jump button, she sort of jumped with it.

Gameboy for me was basically a portable Tetris machine. Little did I know a handheld Tetris game could be had for $10.
