First of all, cheer up man. This probably isn't what you want to hear, but I think it's what you need to hear.

You are not going to be tearing it up with the ladies if you don't stop feeling sorry for yourself. While no one can speak for every woman, I think it is safe to say that a guy with zero confidence will turn almost every one of them off.

This garbage about being a "big fat, shy loser who will never get a date" is the anti-vag. If that is really how you feel about yourself it will show.

Now ask yourself this - If you're a girl, either looking to just play around or get serious, would you want a guy like you just described?

If there's something about yourself you don't like, change it.

Go hit up a gym. Buy P90x. Eat right. Start talking to people to break the shyness up. Join a men's league for golf/bowling/tennis/etc... or just wake up tomorrow, look in the mirror, and bluntly - grow a pair.

Just don't put yourself through this. There's no reason to suffer when you could be doing things to better yourself.

This has been your $wag talk. I'm sure plenty of other guys on here have even better advice, but it's all I have for now.

Just wanted to say this was an awesome post.

It might be cliche as **** but it's true that you have to love yourself before someone else will. Do exercise, eat well, explore interesting hobbies, travel, learn and better yourself and you'll start seeing yourself as the one that is the prize and not put that ***** up on a pedestal any more and it will be easy finding women.

lol I think they say it in order to get nice guys to befriend them. They don't look at opposite sex friendships like we do, we look at them as prospects, they look at it as, well, who the hell knows, if I could solve that riddle I'd be rich .

Again man, I know this doesn't make any sense, and I have no idea why, but they don't want that. They want to make it into a game of some sort.

Here, I have a theory and it is proven. I was told this by a girl I know and it works.

When I would go out and talked to a girl, I normally tell them I have a girlfriend if I want to bag them. It's simple - If I say I'm single, the girl will know that she could have me at any point and it won't be "fun" for her anymore.

This is where it gets tricky. She wants to feel wanted, and sought after, but not from some loser. In her twisted mind, if she can get a guy who already has a girlfriend to get with her, that's a victory. It automatically makes her feel like she has one-upped your girlfriend and is even sexier since you "cheated" with her and were willing to possibly sacrifice your relationship. Plus if you say you're single, In her mind she may think there's something wrong with you, that you're creepy, no girls like you and she shouldn't be the first, etc...

It's pretty much reverse psychology 101. Of course since neither you nor I have a girlfriend, the joke is on them the next morning

Chicks pick up on when you're "chasing" them or trying to find someone. Just be yourself and things will happen at some point.

I don't go after chicks in LA because I don't like the chicks I'm exposed to/around here. Haven't bothered trying in a long, long time. Worthless, futile exercise.

My advice:

Get girl friends. I attract less-than-attractive girls (I don't want to seem too mean) like it's my job, so by befriending them you can learn the female psyche without worrying about doing everything right to get some.

They usually also have attractive friends, and when those friends have heard that you're the sweetest guy ever, they want to find out for themselves what you're all about. Then you have a base with an attractive girl without needing the confidence to just walk up to her and start talking.

Just make sure the original friends don't think that you're after them. Being all but asked to prom by a girl who wasn't my type of girl (at all) will be one of my worst memories from high school.

Its not so much that girls don't want nice guys, its that most "nice guys" who think they are "nice guys" are as im told, some of the most boring people on earth.

Also, I can't stress enough, don't focus on only one chick, much like in the previous post about her sense of accomplishment with getting you to cheat, she'll feel better if she knows there's more than just her she's beating out. And when its not gonna happen, let it go. Back in college one of my favorite comeback lines was in response to "I think we should just be friends" and its a simple "Naw, I got enough friends, im looking for something meaningful, sorry you're not." Its a nice mixture of reverse rejection, slap in the face, and it'll most likely make her think.

mKoz's advice is what I'd suggest as well. Hell, one of best friends is a girl. As soon as I became good friends with her, women as a whole became so much more easier to talk to that it's ridiculous. Hell, to be honest now it's hardly different than talking to men, except I watch my mouth better around women.

Yeah, girls as close friends don't work. At all. They're pure evil. At least if yours is anything like mine is. In the past month we've probably spent more time arguing than not...total waste of time.
