Meh. Season three was really boring me and I don't see how it could top Six Feet Under or season three of Mad Men. Plus I can tell the show is getting more campy with each season.

Trust me. Season four is leap years ahead of three. The fall off you're talking about happens in five/six. Very few people have ever had anything to say about four, from everything I've read.

And that's the odd part. The first two seasons of Mad Men bored me to death and aside from a few moments were a chore to get through for me. Dont know if ill ever finish the series because of that. Six Feet Under I've never given a real chance.

Yeah, whatever you do you must watch Season 4 before giving up on Dexter. Absolutely must. Watch the 1st episode and tell me you won't watch the rest of the season.

Having seen all three shows, you must continue to season 4 of Dexter.

Having watched both Dexter and Six Feet Under (I have all of the Mad Men Blu Rays, but have been on seadon 2 for damn near a year now), then I implore you to work your way through the rest of sesaon 3. Because once you get to season 4 you won't be able to stop watching.

With that said, in my opinion, The Wire is the single greastest show ever on television, so you can't go wrong with either decision

I watched 5 episodes of Mad Men and had to fight to stay awake. I just don't see the appeal..

In the past year, I have completely caught up on Weeds, Parks and Recreation, 30 Rock, How I Met Your Mother, Flash Forward, and Breaking Bad, Archer, and White Collar.

I may be forgetting something too..

I tried to get into Burn Notice and Mad Men, but they grew stale quick.

Best show on TV IMO is Sons of Anarchy.

That's your problem. You have to give it more time to get going. Once it does, it blows just about everything else out of the water.

I'm a big fan of SoA, but of shows currently on TV, I'd rank Son's at number four. Behind Game of Thrones, Boardwalk Empire and Breaking Bad (Sons just doesn't have the balls that those shows have), but slightly ahead of shows like Dexter and True Blood.

As a whole that might be the case(I still think The Shield is better) but there might not be a better individual season in all of TV than Season 4 of Dexter.(Of course I've now build it up so that anyone that watches it will be disappointed)

Is Boardwalk that good? I watched most of the first one but did season two up the ante that much?

I think Boardwalk Empire will be my next show to catch up on.

                            Re: Mad Men

4 hours of my time and the show isn't the least bit appealing to me. How long should it take ?

I watched like the first 8 episodes and thought it was really boring too. Then I came back to it a year later after peer pressure and high marks and really got into it. Now it's one of my favorite shows. Don Draper is one of the most interesting characters in TV.
