The few you had, were they 20" or 24"?

Because if you're a smaller guy you can get away with a 24 if you'd rather ride a BMX.

Well you said you're rather tall so I guess a mountain is better for you. I have a few mountains but hardly ride them anymore. My old BMX's were upgraded many years ago and given to my son.

But since I got him a car now they just gather dust, the only thing he still does every now & then even though he drives now is skate. He loves is decks lol.

People tell me riding a bike is better for your knees then running, etc. but I call BS I can't ride a bike anymore these days without having to stop a few minutes in for a break to rest my knees.

I'd say both would be good lol.

I guess I'm old school, well who knows what it is exactly. It blows me away that there are people that can't swim or ride a bike. In my childhood days everyone learned both at a very early age, I'm talking around 5 to 7 or there about.

Swimming is better for your knees than running and biking, so therefore swimming wins for me.

Yeah i've started to swim some more this summer for exercise and just to get better.

I was a stubborn kid, swim lessons didn't really help me that much and my parents tried but it didn't work. Eventually I just picked up enough along the way to just survive lol

I can swim, but I would rather not. I usually toss a life jacket in the lake, dive in, swim around for a few minutes, and then sit on the jacket and float. I remember being able to swim for hours, as a kid..

It's also easier to keep my drink out of the water, while floating on a life jacket

I was a certified life guard, while I was in boy scouts. My best friend's mom was the troop leader and she insisted on us both doing it. It paid off, because when we went to camp, we got to chill by the lake most of the day.

I learned how to swim mostly from Boy Scouts and some from my mom. She taught me to kick and the Boy Scouts taught me the strokes. Once I learned how to tread water, it was a breeze.

I can tread water and swim a little bit, I just don't open my eyes underwater. I don't swim much regardless.

The water under our boat dock is only about 32 ft. deep. I still catch myself sometimes diving in, going straight to the bottom, and coming back up.

It's hard to do now, but as a kid, I seemed to be part fish.

My mom had me watch JAWS, then threw me in the pool and then told me to "get out of the pool before the shark got me."

                            It worked wonders.

I basically taught myself how to swim in the pool at the hotel we were staying at at Disney World over Christmas break when I was in 8th grade. It was still a couple of years before I got over my fear of deep water where I couldn't stand though.

                              Chronic ear infection?

In middle school I always had a doctors excuse so I didn't have to take swimming when we did that in gym class because of my chronic ear infections.

Yeah, I can't open my eyes underwater either. I even have an extremely difficult time keeping my eyes open when I'm at the eye doctor and he's trying to put the drops in to dilate my pupils.

I learned to swim and ride a bike probably by age 6.
