My god.. it sounds like you bought some Aristo**** (Aristocrat) or some Don Cosack (sp). By handle, you mean a half gallon, right ?
I have a co worker from Florida that says the same thing.
Vodka, Mad Dog 20/20, and Keystone were my go to alcoholic beverages in High School, so I can't drink any of them. I can drink Vodka if I'm all ready lit and it's disguised well, but I can pick it out of pretty much anything. I stick mostly to beer, Captain Morgan, and the occasional American Honey or Jim Beam double distilled. I like Crown also, if it's in a Vegas bomb.
A friend ordered drinks for everyone at The Tilted Kilt, a few weeks ago, and I took some sip and knew it had Vodka. Root Beer Vodka, Coke, Jager, and Jack Daniels in one *** **** drink.... I forgot what they called it... if I was renaming it, I would simply call it.. ***. They served it in a mason jar on ice. I had to use the straw and kill it, because I couldn't put the glass to my nose.
edit: My buddy, who is a dedicated Captain Morgan drinker, bought some Bacardi rum and it was quite good. It wasn't clear and it was a spiced rum. I can't remember the name, but you should give it a try Matt.
This vodka is called "prestige" ?
Yeah 9.99 a handle/half gallon

Re: Off Topic 2012
For some reason, I am a big fan of Skyy vodka.
Cheaper than most, and smooth enough for my liking.
Mixes well.Charger Fan Born and Raised!

Re: Off Topic 2012
I can't drink vodka straight but it's a main component in my favorite mixed drink---a Kamikaze---so I have to deal with it if I want a mixed drink.
Grey Goose or bust. Ketel One is OK. Skyy is not doable. No chance with Smirnoff and such. There's some really crazy smaller vodka distilleries. Haven't really had them though.Comment

Re: Off Topic 2012
I really want to say yes, but I don't think I'll have the time to play and I really can't afford another $60.00 game right now.
I'm in the OS OT Dynasty and the one I run + I play almost every night with OSers on Battlefield 3. (226 hrs tied up into multiplayer).
Re: Vodka
I've heard people speak highly of Kettle One. I haven't had many good name brand vodkas. I think the best I have ever had was Sky, Patron, or Caba Waba. I'm not exactly a vodka connoisseur. Anyone had a brand that's suitable to drink by itself ? I know I had my first Scotch on the rocks, a few days ago. I actually liked it.. better than I thought I would. I'm not sure of the brand, though.Last edited by AUChase; 08-09-2012, 03:22 AM.Comment

Re: Off Topic 2012
Savor it. Even though I was at a new school last year, I had an awesome school year. I'd probably consider it the best I've ever had, but if not it's tied with junior year which was at a different school with all of my friends.
Seriously though, even taking a ton of AP/honors classes, the workload wasn't bad at all and the teachers actually tend to treat you like adults for once. Attending sporting events as a senior was awesome, we did a ton of ridiculous **** including the whole body paint/super fans getup for football games, and nobody looked down upon us because we were seniors. At the same time, there's a sort of unity you'll start to feel with your class, even if you aren't that close with many of them. It's weird. It kicked in for us especially during the spring with prom/social/superlatives/graduation.
My grades were the best I've ever had because I was completely unstressed for pretty much the whole year. Again, this was at a school at which I knew only a few kids going into the year. The teachers also seem to increase in quality as I moved up in high school, especially in my hardest AP classes (5'd all three of my AP tests, mostly because of awesome teachers).
I'm now at the point where, in the next week, nearly all of my friends are going off to college. I'm leaving in two weeks. I probably won't see some of these people ever again, and many of them I'll probably see once over winter break or something if we don't drift apart. It's a bit depressing to think about.
Still though, I'm incredibly excited for college, even if it means leaving some of my closest current friends behind for awhile.
Having said that, as awesome as college will probably be, you definitely want to enjoy senior year fully. Don't use "I'm leaving soon enough" as a crutch to avoid taking advantage of this year.
EDIT: Don't let college admissions stress you out. Start early, work hard on your essays, and once they're in, stop worrying about whether or not you'll get in. I had an abnormal college search as I knew where I wanted to go (for financial and educational reasons) before I even started researching schools, and I was accepted before my other applications were due. But the one thing I can't stress enough is that if you're going to get in, you're going to get in, and if you're not, you're not, so don't let the period between applying and receiving your decision stress you out.
Also, unless you're a prodigious genius or you only want to apply to one school (like me), you're probably going to get rejected. If you don't get rejected you probably didn't reach far enough (again unless you're applying places for financial reasons). Don't worry about rejection at all. I obviously didn't get rejected by my school but I have friends much smarter than me who became really distraught when getting waitlisted and eventually rejected by the MITs of the world. It's really no big deal unless you were truly banking on getting in there. The same thing applies to mid-range schools. If you don't get rejected, you didn't reach far enough. I definitely didn't reach far enough.Last edited by mKoz26; 08-09-2012, 04:10 AM.Bears | Bulls | Cubs | Illinois | #Team3Some
