I always did wonder what high school and college would have been like for me if I had all these technology things we have now. How different I might have been.
When I was in high school, the PS One just came out. Video games wasn't mainstream and online play didn't exist yet for consoles. If you wanted to play somebody you had to go over to where they lived at and pray that you didn't get stuck with the broken controller or the weirdly shaped 3rd party controller.
A pentium with a clock speed of 66mhz was considered blazing fast for a PC with a 28.8 modem.
Life in some ways is so much easier now. High speed internet not only on your PC but your phone as well. We have tablets now, just like the people on Star Trek use to walk around with.
You can literally make friends with other people outside your state and country without even leaving your house. I mean think about all the people you met on OS. Chances are most if not all you would have probably never met if it wasn't for OS because they don't live in your state.
Sure a lot of you grew up with this tech stuff and take it for granted because you always had it. If I had this stuff growing up, who knows how different my life might have been.Comment

Want to know what is funny ? I remember back in 91 me and my friend was sitting in the back of class thinking about how cool it would be if you could just get a video game beamed directly to your house or have movies beamed to your tv that just came out.
I also remember our English teacher laughed at us and said that would never happen. That we were living in fantasy land. She said what's next ? Going to school from your bed in your pj's ?
Fast forward to now and it is reality.....
You have games on demand and movies on demand along with online schools.Comment

Not in my high school it wasn't. Other then my best friend, nobody else talked about video games. It was still seen and viewed as a kiddie and nerd thing to do.
Sure guys played Madden and Mortal Kombat....but that was the extent of it and they would never admit to it in the public that they played it. Nobody went to midnight releases or even talked about it. They would laugh and say that is what kids from the suburbs do.
People were still in the closet about video game playing. You would see a system in their house and they immediately would say yeah that is my little brother's or my little cousin's system.Comment
