Re: Off Topic 2012
Honestly, I don't even remember the last time I got an entree at a fast food place. If there was a ChickFilA in town here I would be in trouble, but the closest one is 20 miles away so the temptation is not a factor thankfully.

My last fast food endeavor was a Big Mac and Fries about two weeks ago.Originally posted by Anthony BourdainThe celebrity chef culture is a remarkable and admittedly annoying phenomenon. Of all the professions, after all, few people are less suited to be suddenly thrown into the public eye than chefs. We're used to doing what we do in private, behind closed doors.Comment

Re: Off Topic 2012
As far as fast food goes, I really only eat Arbys, Lee's Chicken, and the occasional Pizza. It's rare that I even eat those, now. I try to bring my own lunch to save money and we have groceries at the house. When I started working out 8 months ago, I vowed to quit eating McDonalds, BK, Wendys, etc. I'm not perfect and I cheat sometimes, but I usually pay for it when I do eat it.. makes me sick.
I haven't had Sonic since my senior year of HS, but a co worker brought in some and I decided to give it a try.. seasoned steak, cheese, and grilled onions on a breakfast buritto was solid.
I brought some home made vegetable soup for lunch, but I'll save that for later. I need something decently healthy before I start gearing up for the gym.Comment

Re: Off Topic 2012
I gave up fast food/eating out for lunch last Spring in order to save money and lose weight. Its been by far the best decision I've made from a health/nutrition stand-point.
I still have problems with "snacking", but if its not in the house I'm good and since I have ultimate control on what I buy at the store I just skip those aisles and spend most of my time in produce (and lets face it, there's always girls over there).
Very rarely do I hit the middle aisles for anything other than Italian/Mexican products and canned veggies.
Even today I could have gotten a free breakfast at this meeting, but I opted out of the eating sausage gravy and ate half of a whole-wheat bagel and half of a banana for breakfast and I know I would have felt bad eating that stuff no matter how tasty it is.
Not that I don't pig out every once and awhile, but I don't like being full of food anymore and I function a lot better because of it.

Re: Off Topic 2012
There are way too many damn tourists in that area and that alone makes it seem not worth the trouble of going.
I know a lot of guys here on OS swear by the place, so I'm sure it would be worth it. Maybe on a weekday.Comment

Re: Off Topic 2012
I will admit their milkshakes are delicious. We don't have many chicken fast-food based places so I can't really compare their sandwiches to anyone else.
