My family's from Chicago, however I grew up in Cali. (moved here when Iwas 6) My mom says supper, pop, the market, etc...
I still have a bit of a Midwest accent but instead I use, dinner, soda, and grocery store.Originally posted by Anthony BourdainThe celebrity chef culture is a remarkable and admittedly annoying phenomenon. Re: Off Topic 2012
I'd say it's more a generational thing, though it could be geographical too. I grew up in the country, so that's probably part of it. Basically for me growing up Lunch= Dinner and Dinner= Supper... It's just what I grew up with.MLB: Minnesota Twins
NFL: Philadelphia Eagles
NBA: Chicago Bulls, Minnesota Timberwolves
European Football: Manchester United, Brighton & Hove Albion
NCAA: UNI Panthers, Iowa Hawkeyes

If you are having a homemade meal/leftovers/pizza/etc, then you having supper. If you go out to eat/to somebody's house (formally), then you are having dinner.Last edited by Watson; 10-09-2012, 11:09 PM.And may thy spirit live in us, Forever LSU

Re: Off Topic 2012
Random question.
What time did you eat dinner as a kid and what time do you eat it now that you are an adult ?
Growing up I always ate dinner at 4pm until I made it to high school then it was 7pm simply because that was the time I made it home from school. Now it is around 4pm or 5pm, usually when ever I get hungry.
Yes I said when I get hungry because me and the wife don't ever get hungry at the same time.Rose City 'Til I Die
