I have to pick up my Grandmother from the airport today and Im dreading it. Trying to find someone at the American Airlines terminal is already hard enough at JFK but she has no phone and its cold meaning shes more likely to camp inside the damn terminal instead of stand outside and try to cooperate in finding each other.

Hoping I don't have to pick up my cousins at LAX tomorrow. The workers are going on strike or demonstrating or some **** and it's going to be a disaster zone worse than usual down there.

I'm going to stop by the grocery store to pick up a few things in the morning and I hope it's not too turrible. I'm going to make a big thing of hamburger pie, to take to my grandmothers.

There will be so much food there all ready, but I always like to make my own dish and bring it. It usually goes over well with the family.

I know everyone's grandmother is one hell of a cook, but my grandmother makes the most ridiculous chicken dressing. It's the perfect balance between moist and dry and has so much flavor.

It seems most other people's dressing I eat is one or the other or they add too much of a particular ingredient.

Question for OS:

I have a younger cousin who's in a situation with AT&T and his upgrade. He signed a 2 year contract with them in August 2010 and thought he would be eligible for an upgrade until he was told that because his service was suspended more than twice during that term, his date to be eligible for an upgrade kept getting pushed up and now he isn't eligible for one until Dec. 13.

Now from what I've been told, he's made his payments on time(due on the 26th of each month)and just made his payment for this month, so technically his next payment isn't due until Dec. 26th even though his contract was up in August.

Do you think he should call AT&T and try to see if he can upgrade before the 13th since he has no payments due until Dec. 26 and if so, do you think they'll let him upgrade or will he just have to wait until December unless he goes to a different carrier?

Yeah, probably should call. Why was his service suspended though and how long of a duration were the suspensions for?

Wow.......my payments are due on the 1st every month. But yeah he should call, never hurts to ask.

Mine were always due around the 21st (sometimes a day later or day earlier) from the time I moved into my apartment in August 2007 until about 2 months ago when they suddenly and without warning changed the due date to the 16th.

As long as you're not an *** about it, you can usually say something along the lines of "I like the service, but we're going to have to switch to another provider. It's become too expensive and we're getting a better deal with someone else".

My step mom has to do that for her and my dad, once every year. They have Charter all in one and their rates will keep going up, if they don't say something. That company has some great service, but they don't mind ****ing their customers on the bill.

How long have you lived in LA ?

It seems people either love it or hate it. I've enjoyed the hell out of it the two times that I have been. I was able to see four Lakers games in Staples, simply because the weeks I chose had two home games in each week. I have a cousin who moved to LA about 5 years ago and I never have to pay for a room, so it's just expenses and travel.

I could imagine how it would be frustrating if you were there all the time.

About 12 years. I'd really love to just get used to it but **** like a CAVIAR ATM realllllllllllly makes that difficult, lol.

I never liked LA even when we used to visit. Have always had family here so we were always down once every few months or so.

Why are they calling these things "automatic teller machines"? Last time I checked you don't buy food items from a bank teller.

You get cash from an ATM. You get food from a vending machine.
