I went to a Australian NBL (basketball) game between Sydney Kings and Melbourne United last night, featuring former NBA player Josh Childress for the Kings - he's currently leading the league in rebounds and is the second top scorer too.

No sorry, the NBL season only lasts until mid-March.

If you are going to Sydney or Brisbane try to check out a rugby league (NRL) match or if you are going to Melbourne or Adelaide or Perth try to get to an Aussie Rules football (AFL) game, especially in Melbourne.

Yeah I'm gonna be going along the coast and just checking everything out since I've never been there before. My girlfriend's family are all big fans of one of the AFL teams (I think they're called the Bombers?) so I think we might go check that out.

Yeah the Essendon Bombers who play in Melbourne. If you can see a near-sold out game at the MCG (Melbourne Cricket Ground) that would be some experience!

That said, I've never actually been to Melbourne myself (despite living in Sydney for 25+ years). But I will finally be heading down this July incidentally for a sporting event - a soccer friendly between Real Madrid v Roma

It was the closest I have ever gotten to the court at a college game. I was on the 3rd row.

I went to a Seattle Mariners game back in April. Hoping to maybe get tickets to go to opening day this year. Was gonna go last year but my friend flaked on me. Good thing is this year, our spring break will still be in effect during opening day.

The Asian Cup 2015 soccer tournament is currently on here in Australia and just a couple of days ago I picked up tickets to the Sydney-based Quarter Final, Semi Final and Final itself!

That Semi Final was expected to involve host nation Australia who won their first 2 matches easily...but they are currently losing their final group match to South Korea 0-1 with 20 minutes remaining. If they do lose, they'll be on the other side of the draw which means their potential Semi Final would NOT be in Sydney anymore

Sadly they didn't get that draw, which means the likely Semi Final will be South Korea v Iran. Not a bad alternative at all, but not what I was hoping for.

Could still see Australia play in the Final itself though...but they'd have to get past Japan now which is a big ask even on home soil.
