Re: Whats Your Major?
When I left for college, I was going to be a History teacher. I took a History of Economics class and changed my major to economics. Had enough credits to graduate in 4 years, but I had a scholarship that would grant 5 so I added a business Admin Major with a minor in accounting. Ended up getting an Accounting degree later and then a Masters in Finance. Economics was great education foundation, but really needed the other business degrees to land a decent job.I feel like we are long lost siblings buckeye I'm in almost the exact same situation. Changed my my major to management a semester ago but can't decide if I want to do that or teach history. I was thinking about getting a teaching certificate. Really torn up about it right now which path I should go down. I'm midway through sophomore year and don't want all my business credits to go to waste.
Still kind of wish I had done some teaching along the way, but I read a lot of history as a hobby and that's good enough. My business degrees pay the bills.Chalepa Ta Kala.....Comment

Re: Whats Your Major?
Graduated in July 2013 with a BS in Elementary Education and Middle School Social Studies. I am certified 1-6, 5-12 Social Studies, and K-12 PE. I am also 9 credit hours away from finishing my Sports Management degree.
Currently teaching 4/5th grade science in a very small town here in SW Missouri. Would like to get into a junior high social studies position and am on the verge of getting a high school soccer program started.
If you find the right school, you should be able to teach what you want and coach, especially in smaller towns.Comment

Re: Whats Your Major?
Getting my bachelor's in entrepreneurship next year, then going for a marketing or corporate communications (basically PR) masters.
I wish we had minors here.
USA higher education system - EU system (just the structure).
But the average cost of university in Croatia is $ ~300-400 a year, and I'm also getting money for even attending college. It's expensive as hell in the USA.Khalabeeb - Tony Henderson

Re: Whats Your Major?
Major in Sports Management and minor in History. I'm still wondering if SM is even worth it, if it is a real degree or if it's a waste of time.
I think it would be really cool to get a job with the Cardinals HOF or Baseball HOF.
Maybe with a SM degree I could take over the head of my town's parks and rec dept and create an adult baseball league. Hooah! Two years later...My, my, how times change.
Now I'm only a few months away from graduating with a B.A. in Sports Management. I've gotten an internship with the St. Charles Chill and things are looking up.
I'm hoping to get an internship this summer with a minor league baseball team. After hearing Mike Veeck speak, I don't plan on entering the major leagues until many years down the road. I'm looking to work at the ballpark, but not in a cubicle.
I got that summer internship for Stadium Operations with the River City Rascals, but had to move back home and work at Kmart for over a year.
Just yesterday I got a paid internship with the Nashville Sounds in Stadium Operations. So I'm moving to Nashville very soon and my boss is trying to help me find a place to stay. Who knows what will happen after that.Comment

. I'm only decent at math and science.
