Your math skills rival your ability to pick and stick with a favorite team.

    108mil x 3=324mil not 462.

462mil /3= 154mil before taxes to each winning ticket

In IL it's a little over a 4% tax rate on lottery winnings in addition to federal tax of 25%. Hence why it's approx 108mil that winning ticket will be worth on cash option. Some states don't have a tax on lottery winnings but the 25% fed tax still has to be taken out.

So my original point still holds true that the posted cash option amounts are before taxes.

If you were just one of 3 people in the entire Mega Millions who just won a record jackpot you really think you can't remember them numbers by heart? This might go down as the most foul okey doke in World History second to only the Louisiana Purchase.

Mega Millions mania has plunged a Maryland McDonald’s into a bubbling cauldron of controversy hotter than a deep-fried apple pie.

Workers at the fast-food joint who pooled their cash for tickets are furious at a colleague who claims she won with a ticket she bought for herself and has no intention of sharing.

“We had a group plan, but I went and played by myself. [The ‘winning’ ticket] wasn’t on the group plan,” McDonald’s “winner’’ Mirlande Wilson 37, told The Post yesterday, insisting she alone bought one of the three tickets nationwide that will split a record $656 million payout.

...Pressed as the day went on, she became more cagey.

“I don’t know if I won. Some of the numbers were familiar. I recognized some of [them],’’ she said. “I don’t know why’’ people are saying differently. “I’m going to go to the lottery office [today]. I bought some tickets separately.”

That's why whenever I've done a group thing we copy all the tickets into 1 page and then have everyone sign it and everyone gets a copy of it.

No. Jordan had to sell his shares as owner. This is what caused the controversy with the owner not agreeing to resell the shares back in an effort to push Jordan out.

Tonight is a good night to bump this one.

I just dropped $55 (I like that number) on PowerBall tickets.

I played 5 numbers of my choosing with the Power Play and also got 20 auto pick numbers without it.

                  Good luck tonight, everyone!

Definitely would take the annual installment. I intend to live another 30 years.

Whoever wins, 30 bucks of it will be mine. I got 10 worth for the 250?M drawing, then another 10 for the 325M drawing, and 10 more for this one. I swear it's the only thing anyone at work has talked about the last 3 days.

I played $10. A bunch of guys I work with all bought a ticket. We agreed if anyone wins we all get a share.

                        It's nice to dream...haha.

I had 3+Powerball on my own, don't know how the Work Pool did until I go in tomorrow.

                          5-23-22-6

                          I'll take a $100

But the total amount of the jackpot would determine if I'd take lump sum v payments.

                          I pretty much have an outline set in my head for anything over 50 million after taxes;

I heard that should you opt for the annuity payments, if you die, they don't automatically carry over to your estate. I would take the lump sum. Pay off my debt (mortgage, car, credit cards) and invest 80% of it.

The future is way to uncertain to assume that in 20-30 years the money will still be there to be paid out.
