            Bball Career ain't over yet.

You should ask Andrew Bynum if he has any spare knee braces lying around. They've seemed to have to work for him and he has Potato Chip Knees.

That totally sucks. Makes me wonder what the hell is wrong with my knee now... I don't wanna know... not being able to do any competitive athletic activities sucks.

You do not believe you'll be able to ever play basketball again? I feel as though virtually all knee injuries are recoverable these days. Is this not true?

                  Re: CRAP CRAP CRAP

It's really up to the person and their injury.

Working at an ortho clinic you'd be surprised how many dx's I see where the individual only rehabs within the clinic even though we educate them and give them a home exercise plan.

"I don't have the time.", "I forgot", "I thought typing a 500 page paper with CTS even though you informed me of talk-type software was a good idea".

Andrew Bynum is a totally different story. He makes millions. The team is ensuring prevention of injury to the max by making sure he has people around him practically 24/7.

It's easier to lay down than it is to fly.

Bball career over as in I can't risk it from a family, wife or job perspective....plus it's a nasty nasty injury....everything I put above isn't even the entire story...

Doc said athletes have recovered from it though.....

I just plan on going hard as far as physical therapy.....I just don't know of I'll ever get back into high impact stuff...

Damn man. That sucks. It really is a pickup baller's nightmare. I remember that I stopped playing once I got married. I just felt that it wasn't worth it. Good luck in your recovery.

Man you will be able to play agin trust me but it will take alot of work and you will have to know when to lay off playing etc..Had the same thing (ACL,Meniscus)except mine was a bone fracture, and back then their was no micro-fracture surgery..I play ball 2x per week and play football every weekend during the season and I had surgery years ago..It took some hard work and alot of pain..but trust in your dx ,physical therapist and constantly hit the gym..you will be alright man...The hardest part for me was the pain after surgery and the first physical therapist visit where they broke up the scar tissue...

Glad everything went well. Here's to a speedy recovery.

Also, hope you don't have an evil cat at home. My mom had knee replacement surgery back in '07 and her first night home from the hospital she was sleeping in her queen size bed. The cat comes in and jumps on her bed and lands . . yep, you guessed it . . . square on her knee. That cat really was evil too.
