Re: The Pleasures of Life Thread
Anticipation/build up for something.
At times, I often find myself liking the hype of something more than the actual thing itself. Whether it be a holiday/vacation, show/game, event/party, or something along those lines. Cause for multiple days(maybe even weeks) you'd have that in the back of your mind and will be looking forward to it.Comment

Pacing.
Don't know why, but I always just randomly pace at times if I'm thinking while standing up(not in public, but just if I'm at home or something). lol, sometimes I want to carry around one of those step clicker things that counts how many steps you take, just to see how much I actually do pace.
Though when I do pace, I actually do start thinking alot about random stuff. Ironically, it's actually abit relaxing even though I'm probably walking around for who knows how long without even realizing it.Comment

No, though those school chairs aren't the best to sit on for long periods of time. After all, who wants to sit on small, hard plastic chairs for an entire class? If it's a comfortable enough chair, I can sit on it for long time.
These were the worst things to sit on! So uncomfortable! Especially in winter time when there's so much static and you get shocked so often on those things.

The Pleasures of Life Thread
I get to see NYC, Raleigh, New Hampshire, Utah, Virginia, and Denver this year. We hit about an expo a month as part of my job. And when I say job, I use the term loosely because I'm in a business that mixes work with play quite literally (toys!).
Best part is I get to bring someone with me, expenses paid. I'm taking my best friend to the West Coast because he's never been, my wife to the South (well as far south as we've ever been), my Dad to Virginia, and one of my longtime friends/now co-worker to NYC and Denver, which is over his birthday.
May have just pulled in a large sale too, which equals a fat commission check and our business continuing to grow. Trying not to count my chickens before they hatch.
But damn! Sometimes I just am at a loss for words for where I was, where I am, and where I'm going. Moves me to tears almost.
I don't think this is a pleasure of life, but rather life that brings the pleasure. The journey, every day. I would never have been able to appreciate today without going through all those yesterdays.NHL - Philadelphia Flyers
NFL - Buffalo Bills
MLB - Cincinnati Reds

Oh boy do I miss that (son's now in college, daughter in 8th grade). I used to say I was living the 'good ol days' right then. You are living in the 'good ol days' right now. Enjoy, it goes so quickly.Comment

Re: The Pleasures of Life Thread
Long weekends in which other people you know also get it off. Doesn't have to lead to going anywhere, just getting to have that 1 extra day off, so Saturday and/or Sunday everyone can do stuff, without having to rush through the weekend is nice to have.Comment
