Never had a "shirsey" but I may consider it now. Wearing any jersey besides a baseball jersey always made me feel uncomfortable.NHL - Philadelphia Flyers
NFL - Buffalo Bills
MLB - Cincinnati Reds

Besides that, players get shuffled so much nowadays. "Instant throwbacks".
Or, some players just don't pan out (here's looking @ you VY). I bought that Vince Young jersey cuz I knew he was going to be the ****.
Guess we know how that all worked out. Now I have a $100 shirt to mow my yard in now.
I will never buy another player jersey for the rest of my life. A team jersey with my name, maybe (personalized).
Sorry, bit OT. No problem with people wearing other's jerseys.EXPERIENCE MAYHEM FOOTBALLComment

Yeahhh same boat here. Drew Bledsoe Bills jersey... Gone shortly thereafter. Willis McGahee... Same thing. Ken Griffey Jr Reds BP jersey, outta town.
Not a big fan of no-name jerseys, though I own a Flyers Winter Classic one. May be the best option...NHL - Philadelphia Flyers
NFL - Buffalo Bills
MLB - Cincinnati Reds

Re: How do you feel about wearing players names on your back?
I feel as though you should be able to wear any jersey you want. That
is sometimes the problem with people these days. They think they are too
old for something and as a result, lose that connection with their childhood
and youth.
Really though, I don't ever see myself wearing a jersey of somebody that is younger than me. The jerseys I own are all of guys that are older than me and are my favorite players; McGwire, Yzerman, Roethlisberger, and Lambert (hopefully Berkman soon).
I can't see myself having another favorite player after I'm past age 27. All my favorites today will be retired by then and will have been replaced by guys my age or younger. That will be when I take on more of a GM role and judging players base on their stats and abilities more.
Dorall Green-Beckham; I could care less about him. He was a chump at Hillcrest and did nothing against my Rolla Bulldogs when I was still in school.
Bryce Harper also looks like a huge jerk.Last edited by sydrogerdavid; 04-29-2012, 02:56 AM.Comment

Re: How do you feel about wearing players names on your back?
On a somewhat related note, my 8th and 9th grade history teacher told me one day,
"You know you are getting old when the players you grew up watching start becoming the managers of the team."
That means I'm already starting, for there are three guys managing now that I had the opportunity to watch play, Robin Ventura, Ozzie Guillen, and Mike Matheny.Comment

Let's see I have a
Drew Brees Jersey
Marques Colston Jersey
Jimmy Graham Jersey
Drew Brees Shirt
Hanley Ramirez Jersey
Mike Stanton Shirt
Chris Paul Jersey....This may go into retirement
I seemingly have no problem with it lol, I don't see any problem with it no matter the age. If I have a favorite team/player I'm gonna support that playerSaints, LSU, Seminoles, Pelicans, Marlins, LightningComment

Re: How do you feel about wearing players names on your back?
Never really been a fan of "Shirseys" but that's moreso because I'm so used wearing the actual jersey.
That being said, I still wear my Aaron Rodgers replica jersey ONLY on Gamedays(which is what I assume MOST Football Fans do)but that's about it.
But yeah, there's nothing wrong with wearing another player's name on your back. The problem is so many people are too damn concerned about what others think of them when they're wearing something.#RespectTheCultureComment

Re: How do you feel about wearing players names on your back?
I've got a shirsey for Blaine Gabbert.
I don't wear it often for two reasons: 1) I've regrettably gained some weight and it doesn't fit flatteringly. 2) I'm more concerned with people giving me **** that I actually bought a shirsey for Gabbert, who everyone thinks is a bust after one season.
I don't care that he's actually a year+ younger than me.Rose City 'Til I Die

Never been a fan of jerseys or the t-shirt with a players name and number on the back. They just don't fit my personally style.Comment

I'm glad I got my Steve Yzerman Wings jersey, but I don't normally wear it. I only wear it when I go to Wings games, or sometimes during the playoffs at bars.
I've never gotten into wearing them during regular day type eventsNintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

Re: How do you feel about wearing players names on your back?
If it was given to me. They still cost more than a similar shirt. I don't have a problem with jerseys, as I caught an older style (before the stripes) D12 Jersey for twenty a few years back and rock it once every year or so. I guess I am just completely indifferent to the entire issue. lolComment

Re: How do you feel about wearing players names on your back?
I'm the same way I only wear my jerseys for certain events, going to games obviously, if I'm going out to a bar to watch a game I'll wear it, and for like the NFL draft I'll throw it on and wear it. Outside of those type situations I don't wear them.Favorite Teams:
