Re: Fashion / Style advice thread
I'm very predictable, usually.
I'm usually in jeans, tshirt, and a hat with either boots or sneakers. I love all my Nike shoes, but there's no substitute for a really nice pair of boots. If I'm out trail riding with the jeeps or riding bikes, they're ideal and my feet don't tire out as quickly.
Around the house, It's always basketball shorts... I don't do pajamas.
I've got some really nice polo-style shirts that I wear when I'm trying to look nicer and I've started buying more button ups and some nicer slacks for work...
It's getting close to summer, so I'll be breaking out the plaid shorts, cargo shorts, etc...
I'm a believer in Nike. I have 4 pair of shoes, not including flip flops and boots and they're all Nike, except one pair of Adidas, with straps, but I hardly ever break them out.Last edited by AUChase; 05-01-2012, 02:23 AM.Comment

Re: Fashion / Style advice thread
Jackthreads.com is a good site to use. I don't buy stuff there much because I'm trying to save money, but they get some tempting deals.
Personally, I've gotten into wearing a lot of unbuttoned shirts or unzipped jackets/hoodies lately with a v-neck underneath.
And I'm a big, big fan of this jacket that I found at a Kohl's store a year ago or so.
I usually wear this unzipped like everything else lol
I've gotten a ton of compliments for that jacket and it only cost around $30.
Edit: And here's a question that I've been curious about. When you guys buy sunglasses, do you go for Ray Bans/Oakleys/other more expensive brands, or do you just go for the pairs that are like $20 or so?Last edited by Yeah...THAT Guy; 05-01-2012, 04:54 AM.NFL: Bills

Re: Fashion / Style advice thread
Thanks Rexis I did a bit of search. Raw denim ain't cheap!!!
In relation to sunglasses and clothes in general I have to admit I'm a bit of a brand whore (grew up poor, could never afford brand name stuff so now that I can I do). I currently rotate two pairs:
A pair of Ray Ban Aviators:
and a pair of Oakley Gascan's:
To be honest they are completely overpriced for what you get though and I think once these two need replacing I certainly won't be paying that kind of money again.
What do you guys think of denim shorts? Yay or nay?

For me, the time of the year depends on how I dress.
Over the summer it's usually,
vnecks, henley's, tanks, snapbacks, etc. Slim or regular fit jeans, can't get down with those skinny's.
When it gets cooler, I'll usually wear:
Usually jeans all the time unless it's really cold, cardigans, sweaters, military shirts with skinny ties, military jackets, basically anything military.
For instance...

But then, when the occasion calls for it, I dress like this:

And as for shoes, either Supra's or Radii for casual. I wear loafers for more dressy occasions.
Edit: On occassion, I will wear my nerd frames (rarely nowadays though) and I never wear sunglasses.PSN: MajorJosephxComment

Nice jacket man, definitely something that is versatile and could work in a bunch of situations.

I keep my style simple. Not too flashy. In high school I use to only buy brand name clothes but now it really doesn't matter. If I like it I don't care what brand it is. I do prefer certain brands over others like for jeans I prefer American Eagle. Their jeans fit me the best and also I like the look. I can't stand AE shirts or any other brand shirts or clothing where the logo is all over the material. I don't want to be a walking advertisement.
My closet is filled with button-up long sleeve shirts. In the winter sleeves down, summer sleeves rolled up. I like striped, checkered, or flannel long sleeve shirts. I'll only wear solid for something formal. Polo's, usually solid. I have a lot of t-shirts, most of which I found online that are funny or have cool designs. I also have various sports t-shirts and sport hoodies. I have a couple of nice pants and nice collared shirts I'll wear for formal events maybe once or twice a year.
As far as shoes again I prefer simple. I don't need all the bells and whistles. I have a pair of all white puma's, adidas running shoes, and brown slip-on dress shoes.
I like having comfort while still having a decent appearance. I'm not going to out in pajamas but I also don't feel the need to impress the world everytime I walk outside. I prefer clothing that fits me, not too loose or tight.Last edited by Buckeyes_Doc; 05-01-2012, 11:00 AM.Ohio State - Reds - Bengals - Blackhawks - BullsComment

Re: Fashion / Style advice thread
All of my sunglasses are the cheaper kind, with the exception of my baby:
And Jonesy, I'm kinda in the same boat as you. Growing up, I didn't do the brand stuff at all but now that I have a job that pays pretty well (at least for someone my age) and I don't really have other expenses yet, I've started to branch out into some more brand-name stuff.
It's weird being at a school like Syracuse where 95% of the campus is loaded and walks around wearing Bapes, Gucci, and all these other brands I had never even seen in person before I got here. I just bought my first North Face with money that I got for Christmas this year lol.

Re: Fashion / Style advice thread
"The demon is in the details", as they say...
I have a more "relaxed fit" version of Levis jean shorts that I wear when the preferred option (khaki cargo shorts) are going to take too much of a beating...
They look okay with the right polo or hoodie...
More functional than fashionable, IMHO...Comment

Re: Fashion / Style advice thread
I'm at a point in my life that I can't bring myself to wear a tshirt out of the house. I'll wear them if I'm lounging around inside by myself but I'm just completely uncomfy wearing them outside to the mall, school, meeting clients, or whatever. Whenever I go out I'm always at least in a dress shirt, pants, and most often a jacket, most of the time I'll wear a suit and tie, usually I'll wear my trilby hat if I haven't had a haircut in awhile. I have an entire armoire that holds my ties, coordinated by color, 2 closets full of suits and shirts again coordinated by color, with the bottom of my closets being used for my shoes. I also have 2 jewelry boxes full of cufflinks, tie clips, collar bars, and watches, in addition to a box of pocket squares, although I usually keep my moneyclip and sunglasses on my dresser with my flash drive so I never forget them.
If anyone yearns or desires pics of my setup they're available upon request and yes I fully realize I very well may have a slight obsession. As Shaquille O'Neal left the Suns practice court, he yelled out, "Alvin's the coach. We must be the Clippers. And I must be Olowokandi. Nooooo!"Comment

Re: Fashion / Style advice thread
You can't go wrong with linen shirts and jackets or a jacket in light weight wool. You should stay away from stuff like polyester. Old Navy usually has nice linen shirts around spring-summer time that aren't too cost prohibitive, if you feel like spending a bit more Banana Republic has them as well for a bit more, but the BR shirts do tend to have a better fit IMO.As Shaquille O'Neal left the Suns practice court, he yelled out, "Alvin's the coach.
