Since I bank with Chase, I get an additional 10 points per transaction + an additional 10% increase in points.

Example...for this quarter if I go to the grocery store and spend $100.

    I get (100x 5)+(10)+(100x5x10%)=560 points...or $5.60 cash back.

If I spent $100 at Outback, I would get 120 or $1.20 cash back

Last year on average, I think I earned 1.5% cash back. We had almost $1,000 to put towards Christmas (that is what we use our points for).

We use our credit card for absolutely everything we possibly can, that makes sense to do so (Almost all bills, day care, etc.)
I have the same card and it's definitely great.

I also have a Chase Amazon Visa. If you shop on Amazon a lot, this is a fantastic card because you get 3 points on Amazon purchases (which essentially equates to 3% cash back). Plus 2% back on gas, and 1% on everything else.

I make 99% of my purchases on Amazon, but I am in Texas and we get to start paying taxes on Amazon sometime this year. So that might come down. Does Chase pay you back for using another banks ATM? Hell I might switch banks if that is the case. Seems like they offer a lot more to their customers.

          Love my Chase Freedom card

I use my rewards for Amazon gift cards. The gift cards are discounted 10%...so $90 for a $100 gift card.

Plus the initial $300 cash back program was nice

I saw on an old Slickdeals thread that they offered 5% cash back for Newegg for a few weeks at the end of 2011. Is that still going on?

I am about to spend $1100 on Newegg(I have the cash to pay off right away), but I figured I'd just go ahead and get a card that has a thing going on with Newegg right now. Looks like they just ended a second running of the $300 cash back offer at the end of March.

Got approved immediately for a Capital One Student Rewards card.

$300 limit, but I intend to just buy the small things I normally would with my debit card then just pay it off immediately to build credit to have some when i'm done with college.

That's all I use my credit card for. I like that I don't lose the money out of my bank account immediately, that I have better protection from fraud and can cancel purchases if I have issues, and that I get rewards.

IMO no one should carry a credit card balance, because it's bound to get out of hand fast with interest and so tough to dig out of (I know because I did it...got it all paid off after a while of saving).

My initial offer was the $200 cash back. I think saw an ad for the $300 cash back somewhere and called customer service and asked if they would honor that offer.

They credited my account with 10,000 points. I'm happy I went ahead and called!

So my advice: call customer service

Yup, same way. I have never carried a balance in my life. Make my full monthly payment every time, and get tons of rewards at the same time. It's beautiful.

I have a Chase here, guess I'll just go in there tomorrow and see what they are offering right now.

How does cash back work? I wouldn't mind getting a free $300(hopefully they do it again soon) for my PC build just for putting it on a credit card. Is it as simple as you spend over $500 and they give you $300 a couple months down the road?

usually once you reach the required spending, they will give you the points/credit on your next bill

Does it just stay as a credit on the card? Or could I withdraw the cash?

Everyone should probably post their credit card numbers if we're going to have a real conversation about this.

                              Maybe social security number, too.

                              I'll go last.
