Insomnia: The official sleepless zombie thread

Who else can't sleep at night despite having to be up at the crack of dawn?

I know I am not the only insomnia sufferer here.

I want to say I am an insomniac but I feel like its invalid if you have a computer near you.

Now if your just in a room with your head on your comfy pillow and find yourself staring at you room's wallpaper pattern thinking about how sleepless you are for 8 hours straight than you may be an insomniac.

But if you just find yourself in an "interesting internet coma" at times where the rest of life is snoozing, than you're just an insomniac poser! Like me.

I'm capable of and very experienced in both.

Usually, after staring at the ceiling for a couple hours, I'll hop on the computer and do something more productive than ceiling-watching.

But then there are some nights when I'm out before midnight and all is well.

I don't have insomnia. I just like staying up through the night.

I have this big time. Last night I laid down at about midnight, then I just laid there wide awake for hours. The last time I looked at my clock before I finally fell asleep it was 3:30.

I've been having a lot of trouble lately, almost because I'm laying there just telling myself to fall asleep. I need to be in a relaxed state to fall asleep and forget about thinking about it.

A good solution for you might be these four letters: ASMR (Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response)

Find something on YouTube where, preferably, a soft female voice can speak in your head (use some over-the-ear headphones or something), and let the blissfulness begin.

pretty sure that would only stimulate my sleep problems.

Insomnia is the worst. On a good night I'll get 3 or 4 hours of sleep.
As Shaquille O'Neal left the Suns practice court, he yelled out, "Alvin's the coach. We must be the Clippers. And I must be Olowokandi. Nooooo!"

You never know until you try. Trust me, it's worked wonders when I've had trouble.

                              I'll join the thread!

Diagnosed with primary insomnia, and don't have my meds for it at the moment. The last week and a half I've been averaging 45 minutes of sleep a night.

                              It's taking it's toll.
