My annual vacation is to central PA to visit my father. Then we take another vacation inside that vacation to my cousin's alpaca farm in East Berlin. (Yeah, they live in East Berlin still. lol) Then we go to Gettysburg for a day and take pictures of the battlefield and stuff.

Re: Vacation
I just got back from an eight-day vacation to Portugal (family vacation). I visited Lisbon (including day-trips to Sintra and Carcais, which were awesome!) for the first four days. Then, we took the train to Porto (a three-hour trip) and stayed there for two full days and took the train back on the third. The cliffs along the river in Porto were amazing. I've never seen anything like that before (with the city being built right along the cliffs). We came back to Lisbon, stayed the night, and flew back yesterday. We had an eight-hour layover in Philadelphia, so we then took the train to 30th Street Station and took the metro (good God what a ****ty metro Philly has compared to anywhere I've been in Europe) to 5th Avenue, where we saw the Liberty Bell and toured Independence Hall. We then took our flight back from Philly at 8:55 PM and got back to our house at 11 PM! I hadn't been to Philly before outside of the airport, so that was nice to see, even if it was brief. Lots of fun!!!Last edited by superjames1992; 07-26-2012, 10:55 PM.Comment

Re: Vacation
If you want to do the touristy thing head to San Simeon and do a Hearst Castle tour. If you do that, head to Cambria (next town over) and go to Cambria Beer Co. It's a tap room they brew their own beer. Good stuff, my buddy Aaron owns it.Comment

Re: Vacation
Very pretty. It's the California coastline completely untouched, some of the best views you'll ever see.

Re: Vacation
Thought I'd post a quick update now as I've got eight hours of driving ahead tomorrow as we make our way from San Fransisco to Palm Springs.
Really enjoyed LA, got to share some drinks and an eating challenge with some great guys from Chicago and Cleveland, and San Luis Obispo was very nice and quaint.
Not sure what to make of San Fransisco, some nice places and things to do but VERY busy this weekend, and the weather is no improvement from my home.Comment

Re: Vacation
So it's about 2:45 A.M here in England, and in about six hours I'll be leaving for Heathrow (hoping I dont get caught in olympic traffic), to fly into Phoenix, to start a two week road-trip in your (most of you, anyway) country.
Also gonna be visiting Vegas, San Fransisco, LA, San Luis Obispo and Palm Springs.
Another OS'ers got any vacations planed?
Went to Chicago for the 4th of July, but largely skipping the vacations until next June when I go to Iceland for 10 days.Comment

Re: Vacation
I spent 2 days in London before I went on a cruise, then another day in London after the cruise. I don't remember the exact order, but it went from Southampton to Guerney, Le Havre, Cobh, Liverpool (we mostly skipped Liverpool, and took a bus to a Welsh town called Llangollen), Edinburgh, Dublin, Belfast, Glasgow, and Inverness. Took a trip to Stonehenge, Lacock and Bath as well. Loved every minute of it, even had very nice weather. Didn't see rain the entire trip except for Belfast, which seemed appropriate. It struck me as a dreary place. Definitely will visit London again some time, I didn't quite get to everything I wanted to with only 3 days, but I did get all the main attractions in.Comment

I took off the 10th through 16th. Know I'm hitting the beach the 12th & 13th. Might take a day trip or two otherwise. One of my buddies is living down there, I gotta get in contact with him and figure out if I can crash at his place a night. Can't wait to get my tan on and beachbum it up.NHL - Philadelphia Flyers
NFL - Buffalo Bills
MLB - Cincinnati Reds
