Let's take a minute to appreciate our dogs

I don't have a pet at the moment, but someday I will own a dog, and I know what it will mean to me to have the little (or big) guy.

Many of you have seen a few of these photos from past stories, but there are some nice shockers thrown into the mix too.

    I love dogs.

Some pretty powerful stuff here. I've been in a rough spot mentally the past few months but the one constant has been my dogs. to know that an innocent, pure creature cares for you unconditionally like that puts a smile on my face.

I don't know where I would be today if I didn't have my dogs.

this is somewhat related, but i saw this picture at the adoption center where we picked up our puppy. it's called the 10 canine commandments and i'm going to post the link since i don't want to stretch the page: http://www.meh.ro/wp-content/uploads...meh.ro6498.jpg

A lot of this is very true. My dogs mean a lot to me. I braved a tornado, a few years ago, to get my dog out of harms way and to my grandparents house. I would do it again, any day.. he's that important to me..

Now we have our own storm shelter, at home.

Re: Let's take a minute to appreciate our dogs

This February I'm going to be moving to another country and not bringing my dogs. They are going to stay with my sister and I struggle with it everyday now since its getting closer and closer to that date.

I really hope it doesn't make me homesick that I can't handle it and move back. I've only been away from them 3 total days since I got them and now I'll be leaving them and probably going to see them maybe once every 2 years.

It's a sacrifice to attempt a better life for myself so I'll always keep that mind but man its going to be so tough to leave them. The worst feeling I get is that I think they are going to feel that I'm abandoning them.

Matrix, your Dog looks like it has the "t-rex" syndrome, with the way it's laying.. lol.

I miss the Great Pyrenees I had, while growing up. Those things can grow to be massive and are really great and adaptive dogs.

I may would have put money on mine, if it was wrestling a bear.

I could have rode that dog, as if it was a horse.

Wow. I'll admit it, I honestly had to fight back tears. My dogs mean the world to me. My dog Charlie is my shadow. I would spare no expense for him or my other dog Ziva. Just seeing them run and play and just be happy can turn a bad day into a good one.

Anyway, sorry for being mooshy. I just love dogs.....and cats.

My dogs are just one more reason I love going home every month or so... I have a couple of black labs that are super energetic and I absolutely love 'em.

Now to get heavy, and actually I'll spoiler this so if you're in an awesome mood and don't want to ruin it don't show the spoiler:
                        Spoiler

But, after all that, we got these two labs that are awesome. They're not car chasers (at least not yet) so that's always good.

Anyway, as far as the link goes, that picture of the Navy Seal's dog was really popular around here because the guy was from a town about half-an-hour from the one I grew up in. Gets me every time.

If I didn't live in an apartment I would love to have a dog especially since I love alone. We had a couple dogs growing up, but only one of them I actually felt a true connection towards and that was our German Shepard we named CJ.

I was probably about 5 or so when she died, but I still remember that day pretty damn vividly. She was lying in her dog house and wouldn't come out when we called her. Dad wrapped her up in a blanket and we buried her out in the woods behind the house.

Best times was sitting at the dinner table eating. On the side of the dinning room was our deck and we had a sliding glass door. CJ would come up and sit with us while we ate. Dad would make her "sing" by howling and she would mimic him.
